The Local Government Board of Molina de Segura City Council approved at its meeting yesterday, February 14, the adhesion of the municipality of Minkinense to the Protocol of Sociosanitary Coordination in the Care of People with Severe Mental Disorder and / or Drug Addiction (TMG-D ), Promoted from the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities and the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia, in order to cover in a comprehensive manner the needs of these groups.
The objectives of this agreement, whose municipal management corresponds to the Department of Social Welfare, are oriented to:
To promote comprehensive care of people with mental health problems from the community level.
Establish the necessary coordination with the social services for an adequate development of services of rehabilitation and social reintegration of the person with mental illness.
Promote the development of specific programs aimed at the full social integration of people with drug dependence problems in all areas: social, community and health.
To this end, a TMG-D Base Team will be created, which will be the technical coordination unit for the care of people with this problem, and will be composed of the following professionals:
A Social Work Professional from the Mental Health Center.
A Social Work professional from the Rehabilitation Unit.
A professional of the Municipal Center of Social Services.
An IMAS technician.
A professional of the Primary Care Teams of the Health Center.
The performances of the teams will be the following:
Analysis of the needs of people with severe mental disorders, and case management when it is necessary to give a joint and continuous response by social services, health, etc.
Development of training, information and evaluation strategies on the coordination systems among the different professionals.
Proposal of any actions considered appropriate in the area of ​​socio-health coordination and social services.
According to the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, "with the incorporation of the municipality to this protocol seeks to achieve greater effectiveness in solving problems of these groups that, due to their complexity, need a multidisciplinary approach and care integral".
The signing of the agreement does not imply any economic cost to the Department of Social Welfare.
