Luz Gabás, Santiago Postiguillo, Ray Loriga, Luis Leante and Ignacio Martínez de Pisón participate in the Cycle Writers in their ink 2017 Molina de Segura (03/02/2017)

The first meeting of this edition will take place on Thursday, February 9, at 8:00 pm, in the Salvador García Aguilar Library, with Luz Gabás

The Council of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, with the collaboration of la Caixa, convenes the eleventh edition of the Cycle of Encounters Literary Writers in its ink 2017, which will cover from February to May 2017. The cycle has been presented in a wheel Press, on Friday, February 3, by the mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Jesús Martínez Baños, and the coordinator of the cycle, the journalist and writer Lola Gracia.

Since its first edition, this cycle of encounters with writers has received an enthusiastic response from the public, registering full in practically all acts.

The cycle has not only helped to encourage the reading habit among the population, but also helped to make Molina de Segura a cultural reference in literary matters.

In the ten previous editions of the cycle, some of the most outstanding authors of the national and international scene have participated, from the French Michel Houellebecq, the Peruvian Alfredo Bryce Echenique or the Irishman Ian Gibson, to classics of Spanish literature such as Ana María Matute, Eduardo Mendoza, Enrique Vila-Matas, Javier Cercas, Rosa Montero, Fernando Savater, Almudena Grandes or Juan José Millás, among many others.

This year the following writers will participate in the cycle:

Luz Gabás: author of the novel Palmeras in the snow, translated into five languages ​​and taken to the cinema.

Date: February 9.

Santiago Posteguillo: author of historical novels, with trilogies around Scipio the African and Trajan.

Date: March 27.

Ray Loriga: author of novels of great success in the nineties, like The worst of all and Heroes.

Date: April 25th.

Luis Leante: Alfaguara award, will hold a meeting with IES students around his novel Huye without looking back, recent Edebé award for Youth Literature.

Date: May 4.

Ignacio Martínez de Pisón: author of The End of the Good Times and Secondary Roads, taken to the cinema.

Date: May 11.

The presence of Santiago Posteguillo will coincide with the celebration of the X Anniversary of the Salvador García Aguilar Library.

All meetings will take place at 8:00 pm in this library, with the exception of the meeting of Luis Leante, which will be in the morning and local time to consensue with the Institutes of Secondary Education of the locality.

The coordination and presentation of the cycle corresponds to the writer and journalist Lola Gracia.
