Molina de Segura receives more than 10,000 visitors during the year 2016 (03/02/2017)

The Department of Tourism of the Municipality of Molina de Segura has made a balance of visitors to the cultural and tourist areas, and participated in the various municipal programs during 2016, which total more than 10,000 visitors.

Over the last three years, in which Molina de Segura has the Los Postigos Center, this building, which houses departments of Commerce, Crafts and Tourism, as well as the Office of Tourism and an Exhibition Hall, Has had great influx of public, increasing year by year.

The Department of Tourism develops a series of programs, with the aim of bringing the local heritage to all those who wish.

One of them is the Concerted Visits Program, destined to the students of Primary and Secondary Education of the municipality and other groups.

The Visits, A Walk through History, The Industry in Molina, Identity and History and The Walls Speak.

Walls Talk, have had the participation of 65 groups, 23 more than last year, making a total of 1,891 people.

These programs let you know the history of the town from its origins to its flourishing past cannery, as well as the most mysterious stories of the city based on the compilation of the Molinese writer Paco López Mengual.

On the other hand, the Visits Museum Program has received a total of 1,680 visitors between schoolchildren and others: the first Sunday of the month in the Interpretation Center La Albarda Rites and Traditions of Campo de Molina, with 286 visitors;

The second Sunday of the month, at the Carlos Soriano Ethnographic Museum in El Llano, with 526 visitors;

And the third Sunday of the month, plus every Saturday afternoon and Sunday, in the Oven of the Council and House of Folklore, with 401 people.

Also noteworthy was the participation in the Concerted Visits Program, a total of 467 people.

Since its opening, Centro Los Postigos has hosted a large number of exhibitions, all of them from local and regional artists.

In 2016, 11 exhibitions have been organized, two more than the previous year, beginning with one of the most visited, the Forgotten Memories, by Jesús Herrero López, which showed the evolutionary process of buildings, places and historical events in Molina de Segura, Through 10 handmade models, and ending with an exhibition of collective painting, Sentimiento de Mujer, which presented us the pictorial evolution of a group of amateur painters belonging to the Cultural Center of Women Association of Santa Rita de Molina de Segura, directed By Eva Palazón Salinas.

A total of 2,272 people visited these exhibitions during the year 2016.

The Tourism Office of Molina de Segura, in its third year of operation, has provided a total of 3,368 information services, attended a total of 3,024 in-person tourists and has responded to 5,403 requests from non-contact groups during 2016, In total 8,771 requests for tourist information.

Of the total of the requested information services, 3,368 come from the Region of Murcia, 196 are of national origin and 105 are international tourists.

Finally, in the program of Free Guided Tours, organized in collaboration with the Institute of Tourism of the Region of Murcia, there have been 10 tourist visits: Medieval Molina, Entre chimeneas, Teatralizada, Nocturna Musical, etc.

These visits have involved 664 people from all over the Region, which means an increase of more than 300 people compared to the previous year.

According to the Councilor for Tourism, Rocío Balsalobre Sánchez, "our goal of increasing participation in this year 2016 has been fulfilled and it is our desire to continue with the promotion of tourism in the municipality, fulfilling constant quality services."
