During 2016, residential care, day care centers and autonomy promotion spaces were expanded in 309, reaching 3,960 places in the care services for people with disabilities
The Autonomous Community places at the disposal of people with intellectual disabilities 52 places in the new residence that the Association of Parents and Protectors of the Psychic Disability of Murcia (Aspapros) has in Molina de Segura, and that today inaugurated the president Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
Pedro Antonio Sánchez said that with this new facility "what culminates is a center of integral attention", taking into account that there is already day center, occupational center and now this residence, which allows to increase the supply of residential squares in 22 people More, going from 30 to 52 places.
The president recalled that during this year the residential care, day center and autonomy promotion spaces were expanded in 309, reaching a total of 3,960 places in the care services for people with disabilities.
He emphasized that collaboration with the Third Sector and other organizations that have social initiatives such as Aspapros, "is allowing more people to reach more who needs it and more quickly."
He added that "this is the priority we translate into figures, budgets and resources."
Pedro Antonio Sánchez said that "next year we will continue in this line, to increase the resources allocated to those who need it most to win equality, social care and integration" and, finally, "betting on social services because the Social budget allows real equality ".
The Papers
Aspapros is a non-profit association created in 1985. It performs a support function towards the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities, promotion of personal and social autonomy, defense of rights and social awareness.
It serves a total of 237 people.
The residence inaugurated today by the President of the Community consists of a basement, ground floor and three upper floors;
Three of them are nursing and the rest in double rooms, which have toilets adapted within them.
It has a rehabilitation room and another physiotherapy, adapted swimming pool and laundry, as well as multipurpose room, infirmary, 6 therapy rooms, offices and meeting room.
