The Municipal Immigrant Program of Molina de Segura celebrates the Christmas holidays with a carols and candy workshop (20/12/2016)

The Department of Social Welfare of the Municipality of Molina de Segura, through the Municipal Immigrants Program and on the occasion of the Christmas holidays, has held a Christmas carols and candy workshop as a closing of the programming for this year 2016 relaxation activities , Cloth painting, music therapy, and laughter therapy.

These activities were launched last October 27 and will continue on January 10, 2017. The workshops are intended for the foreign population residing in the municipality, whose main objective is to promote the social integration of the immigrant community to access resources Standards.

About 30 people of different nationalities participate in this program.

To guarantee the attendance of some participants, there is a certain number of places in the Integra municipal service.

The activities of the workshops are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm.

Each week, a playful session is held, which is taught by a group of four volunteer women from the municipality, who train in the skills of social skills using cooking, sewing and crafts.

These activities are developed in an alternative way according to programming and adaptation of the same.

There is also another weekly session with socio-educational content.

The content of the talks is oriented to socio-educational subjects belonging to the different areas of Health, Education, Social Services, Training, Employment and Culture.

The talks are destined to the information and orientation of the municipal resources in the different councils.

In the socio-educational aspect there is a series of training talks for the participants of the program, given by a municipal technician, where the contents to be developed are determined by the detected needs of the group.

Participants begin on topics such as self-concept, self-esteem and personal identity, with a practical and experiential methodology, with the purpose of reflecting on oneself, so as to be able to transfer this group work to family and couple relationships.

This aspect is important because of the difficulties of isolation and loneliness produced by the uprooting, generating links and social support network.

From this work it is intended the derivation and the approach to the municipal groups of social participation.
