The act of signing the collaboration agreement between the City of Molina de Segura and the University of Murcia for the development of Health Program 5-10: Healthy Children, Happy Adults took place today Friday December 16, at the Rectorate of the University Of Murcia (Building of the Convalescence).
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the Magnificent Rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela Calatayud, and the Councilor for Health, Esther Sánchez Rodríguez, attended the meeting.
Salud 5-10 is a program aimed at children of the municipality of Molina de Segura from 5 to 10 years old and who are obese and overweight, and is directed by a research team of professionals from the Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca, Hospital de Molina , Fundación FFIS, University of Murcia and City Council of Molina de Segura.
In 2014 received the Sports Merit Award of the Region of Murcia in the R & D & I category.
Within this program there is a sports intervention on children, designed and developed by Dr. Pilar Sainz de Baranda Andujar and collaborators of the Department of Physical Activity and Sport of the University of Murcia.
As stated in this agreement, the Faculty of Sports Sciences of the University of Murcia has designed and is developing in the municipality of Molina de Segura a physical exercise intervention framed in the Health Program 5-10, with the participation of 4 monitors And the specific sports equipment necessary for its development.
This activity is developed during the school year with a duration of 3 hours per week.
For its part, the Municipality of Mine is committed to an economic contribution of 6,800 euros for the development of this activity.
