The XIII Setenil 2016 Award for Best Book of Stories Published in Spain will be delivered on Monday, December 12 at the Municipality of Molina de Segura. The delivery ceremony will take place at 20.00 in the Plenary Hall (09/12/2016)

The act of delivery of the XIII Setenil 2016 Prize to the Best Book of Stories Published in Spain, promoted by the Council of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, will take place on Monday, December 12, at 8:00 p.m., in the Plenary Hall of the City Council, with the assistance of the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the winner of the XIII Setenil Award, Diego Sánchez Aguilar, Councilor for Culture, Pedro Jesús Martínez Bańos, and the President of the Jury, Eloy Tizón.

The winner of this year's award was Diego Sánchez Aguilar, who won the award for his work New Theories on Female Orgasm, published by Editorial Balduque (Cartagena), among 81 presented by publishers throughout Spain.

The jury of the prize is composed by Eloy Tizón, José Belmonte Serrano, Antonio Parra Sanz and Manuel Moyano.

Prior to the delivery of the prize, the winner of the prize will receive the media attention, at 12.30 pm, at the IES Francisco de Goya (Calle Luchador).

At 13.00, in the auditorium of the IES Francisco de Goya, meeting of the winner with students of Secondary Education.

In the afternoon, at 19.30 hours, in Paseo Rosales, will proceed to the discovery of a plaque commemorating the winner of the Setenil Award, an event attended by the Mayor and the winning writer.

The plaque has been placed on a bench in the walk area and contains a commemorative text of the award and an excerpt from the winning work, as well as a drawing by the Molinese artist Juan Espallardo.

The Setenil Prize, known as "the Oscar of the story," has a prize of 10,000 euros for the author of the winning book.

The award-winning writer, Diego Sánchez Aguilar (Cartagena, 1974), is a Doctor of Literature and teacher of Secondary Education in La Manga del Mar Menor.

He has combined the essay of literary research with poetry (From the belly of the whale, Lindero de tinieblas, Diary of the white beasts).

Winner of several narrative awards and selected in various narrative anthologies, New Theories on Female Orgasm is her first book of stories.

A book that reflects "the sexual customs of that strange Western tribe called the Middle Class," and whose characters "inhabit a world in which sex is never as it should be, as the ads say it is, as pornography promised it would be ".

The winners of the previous editions of Setenil, considered one of the most important awards in the national literary scene, have been Alberto Méndez, Juan Pedro Aparicio, Cristina Fernández Cubas, Sergi PĂ mies, Ă“scar Esquivias, Fernando Clemot, Francisco López Serrano, David Roas, Clara Obligado, Ignacio Ferrando, Javier Sáez de Ibarra and Emilio Gavilanes.
