The Band of IES Miguel Hernández de Bigastro (Alicante) will offer, for the sixth consecutive year, a didactic concert on the occasion of the celebration of Santa Cecilia, patroness of music, on Friday, December 2, at the CEIP Maestro Francisco Martínez Bernal (Calle José Antonio Vidal Serrano, n ° 80, Molina de Segura).
This activity is prepared by the whole school community of the two centers and proposed and funded by the AMPA of the school of Mine, which, since its creation, bets on the dissemination of recreational-training activities in this center.
It is a concert designed for students between 3 and 11 years old, who can attend the different sessions during the morning.
Melodies of various soundtracks and compositions have been selected: Frozen, The Lion King, The Gazza Bark and Young Locked Moment.
The IES band Miguel Hernández de Bigastro was created by music teacher Manuel Beltrán today Director of the Institute in 2004. Since then he has been enriched by the activity of the young musicians of the town.
Currently, the band consists of 21 students who study from 1st year of ESO to 2nd year of high school.
About 8% of the students in the center play an instrument.
In addition, for these didactic concerts the participation of alumni of the IES is added.
From the beginning, the band has had the support of the Miguel Hernández cloister and supposes its creation, development and evolution, a work of almost all the didactic departments of the institute.

The activity is coordinated by IES music teachers, Manuel Beltrán García (director) and Israel Escrivá Magraner (coordinator).
On the part of the Molinean school María José López (music teacher) and Raquel Méndez (English teacher) participate actively.
The proposal of the concert and the economic cost of it is run for a year by the AMPA of CEIP Maestro Francisco Martínez Bernal.
Since its inception, this association has been concerned with educational activities in the school.
The activity is supported by the cloisters of these public centers, represented by its directors: Manuel Beltrán García (IES Miguel Hernández) and Fulgencio Monreal (CEIP Maestro Francisco Martínez Bernal).
