Hospital de Molina and COPCAR startup have made the pilot of an intelligent cardiac monitoring, under the Charity Golf Tournament, held on Saturday October 29 at the Golf Altorreal, to benefit the Murcia Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation test (ISOL Murcia), and sponsored by the Hospital Center.
It is an intelligent system pioneer monitoring in its architecture and in the field of e-Health, able to monitor in real time the effects of cardiovascular events in chronic high-risk patients and notify emergency services without patient intervention .
This system has been created by Carlos Jiménez Muñoz and Dr. Thomas Vicente Vera.
During the charity tournament three golfers have been monitored through the Sensorized T connected by Bluetooth to a smartphone with COPCAR diagnostic software installed.
In turn, the mobile phone is connected to the central monitoring startup, where a protocol for emergency medical care is applied, nothing detected any anomaly in the user.
"This device will be part of our commitment to the application of new technologies for the health of our patients. Given that cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, according to the World Health Organization (WHO ), this pilot is a step in the performance of our cardiology department where we work with various diagnostic tests focused especially to high-level athletes and anyone performing assiduously sport, "says Managing director of the Hospital Molina, Pedro Hernandez Jimenez.
"Our system reduces by 80% the time of stabilization of the patient suffering a heart attack and helps to reduce the mortality rate, provide reassurance to patients and families before any risks. We should note that in Spain, more than 130,000 people die each year for a heart-related disease, such as acute myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation or tachycardia "said Reyes Samper, COPCAR manager.
Cardiovascular monitoring equipment provides health care to a patient in record time, after the crisis detected by having the patient not only monitored in real time, but also geolocated.
