Unit Over the Department of Social Welfare of the City of Molina de Segura, with the collaboration of the Association for Active and Healthy Ageing, organized the I "Mostly older" Conference, to be held from 2 to 18 November with the aim of making visible the group of older people.
The program of activities that include these days was presented today at a press conference by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Look, the Councillor for Social Welfare, Angel Navarro García, and the President of the Association for Active and Healthy Ageing Juan Aguilar Gil.
The sessions are aimed at older than 60 years, a collective integrated in Molina de Segura for more than 9,500 people.
The initiative seeks to raise awareness of the importance of improving the quality of life of older people through a series of activities that promote active and healthy aging as a way to preserve the physical, mental and social skills.
A number of scheduled activities will take place in the streets and squares of Molina de Segura.
The program includes a tour of the Greenway (with lunch at Torrealta), a recital couplet, guided tours, exhibitions gerontogimnasia, championship dominoes and cards, theater and a trip to Jumilla.
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero, trust that these days involve "a turning point in the dynamics of work from the Department of Social Welfare, are carried out with the elderly".
The municipal councilor also pointed out that the conference constitute "a space for the promotion of participation, encounter and integration", entered other things, because it is "a program that comes from dialogue with the elderly, their needs. "
The exploration and study of the aging process, allow us to understand old age as another stage of life and in the process have much attitudes but also the actions to promote active aging from society.
These seminars are intended as an example.
Network Senior Centers Molina, through the Partnership for Active and Healthy Ageing (established in April this year), is the space to encourage participation, encounter and integration of the elderly of Molina de Safe.
This network currently has a total of fifteen centers located in almost all the Social Centres.
Unit Over the Department of Social Welfare, coordinated by a social worker, has among its functions as a tool to support the Association and other groups of elderly people in the municipality, in the management of resources, both administrative such as organizational and communication.

Representation in the auditorium of the Center "Las Balsas" (at Calle Griffins), the play "Of the fifty up ..." by "Seven comedians" from 18:30 hours.
