The V Young Performers Competition Villa de Molina 2016 has delivered its 19 awards to musicians most talented of the Region of Murcia in their different categories and modalities, in a ceremony held at the Teatro Villa de Molina on Saturday 14 May.
The Special Prize went to Virginia Martinez Fernandez Noel Gomariz Kühne.
All winners received a cash prize and participation in promotional concerts, while the finalists received a diploma.
The competition is organized by the Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, the Batuta Association Virginia, the Conservatory of Music Maestro Jaime Lopez Music Association in Molina de Segura, the Municipal Polyphonic Choir Hims Mola and Band Association Molina de Segura music, under the artistic direction of the orchestra conductor Virginia Martínez Fernández.
Modalities convened in this fifth edition corresponded to piano, string, woodwind, percussion and wind-metal, the latter being awarded for the first time this year.
The awards ceremony was attended by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Look, and Council of Youth and Culture.
The competition featured more than a hundred registered participants.
The level of participation has been multiplying in each edition, being the only proposal in the region with qualifying students of the three lessons taught in conservatories and music schools murcianas.
Citizen and business cooperation
The contest is the efforts of a group of volunteers from groups of local music Batuta Virginia Association, Music Association in Molina de Segura, Band Music Association Molina de Segura, the Conservatory of Music Maestro Jaime Lopez Polyphonic Choir and Municipal Hims Mola.
Funding is possible through the crowdfunding among a group of 30 local, regional and alicantinas companies consisting of shops, factories, professional cabinets, academies, restaurateurs, health services, freelancers, managers, publishers, printers and musicians.
In addition, it has the backing of Cajamar, la Caixa, Cajamurcia Foundation and the City of Molina de Segura.
