The Illustrious Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of Sorrows organizes the Procession of Silence of Molina de Segura Maundy Thursday March 24 (22/03/2016)

The Procession of Silence, organized by thirty-first consecutive year by the Illustrious Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of Sorrows of Molina de Segura, Maundy Thursday is celebrated on March 24, at 21.00.

The procession begins at the Ermita de San Roque, with the images of: the Fall of Jesus of Nazareth, by Luis Salmerón;

the Dolorosa, molinense sculptor Bernabé Gil;

and the Holy Christ of Sorrows, head of the Brotherhood, also designed by Bernabé Gil.

All in the midst of a strict order and a touching silence, punctuated by the chirping of arrows at some points along the route.

The procession runs along Calle Mayor, Street station, Paseo Rosales, Street Culture, Street Pensioner, Plaza de la Iglesia de Ntra. Sra. De la Asuncion, Consolacion Street Plaza Inmaculada, Street Sepulchre, Calle Mayor, to finish again in the Ermita de San Roque, where the image of the Fall and the Dolorosa receive the head of the Brotherhood.

With the arrival of the Christ of Sorrows in the Plaza de la Iglesia Ntra. Sra. De la Asuncion, the temple doors open to pray the Our Father and sing a saeta.

The Illustrious Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of Sorrows is headquartered in the San Roque Hermitage and was the first in processions at Easter molinense after restoring it in 1986, why it is known as the mother brotherhood.

It consists of about 420 brothers, robed in purple and black color.

Its headquarters is located since 2002 in Orchard Street FAYREN.

It was founded in 1945 by the Brotherhood of Farmers of Molina de Segura.
