The Department of Innovation and European City of Molina de Segura Projects and Transfer Office Results (TTO) of the University of Murcia have held today, Monday, March 7, a working meeting in order to open a space collaboration to exchange innovative proposals that contribute to the development challenges in the urban environment of the municipality solutions.
The first step is to study a way of working together in the framework of the European Commission Urban Innovative Actions that may result in projects with innovative solutions to problems and challenges of sustainable development in the city of Molina de Segura, such as improving air quality, reuse and use of resources, greater energy efficiency, etc.
Councillor for Innovation and European Projects, Remedios Lopez Paredes, highlights "the strategic importance of having the largest institution dedicated to research and innovation in the region, as is the TTO, to jointly address solutions to current urban challenges, since it represents a guarantee when focusing solutions in an innovative and effective. "
The City Council and the TTO may mutually benefit from the projects that can be implemented and financed with funds from the Urban Innovative Actions program and other European programs, to promote the participation of the TTO through the various researchers at the University of Murcia, in providing innovative responses in various areas of molinense urban development through new technological developments.
With these initiatives and the participation of the University of Murcia, the City of Molina de Segura consolidates its strategy in opening new ways to turn the city into an urban laboratory of ideas and projects to improve the lives of molinenses through increased energy efficiency, the introduction of an intelligent city, sustainable urban regeneration, a low carbon economy and greater social inclusion.
