The ceremony for the title of Son of Molina de Segura, posthumously, Mariano Sánchez Gil will take place today Wednesday 23 June at 19.00 pm in the Meeting Room of City Hall.
The event will be chaired by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, and attended by other members of the Municipal Corporation and the President of the Association of Friends of Reading and Vice President of the Foundation of Friends of Reading, Encarnación Garcia Alvarez, who collected the award.

Born in the village of La Ribera de Molina on November 17, 1915, Mariano Sánchez Gil is formed at the Seminar of the Society of Jesus, in Ciudad Real, from the ten years, studying humanities, philosophy and later theology in Granada, where he was ordained priest.
Exiled in Belgium, a doctorate in Philosophy at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland).
Professionally, he served as director and teacher in the ICAI and ICADE of Madrid, and consultant and promoter of Ediciones Anaya, where he created the Office of Economic Studies / Business.
Met, worked and interacted with important political personalities, cultural and social development in the performance of his many occupations.
In 1997, retired, octogenarian, he returned to Murcia where we enjoy a lively and tireless efforts to encourage reading, creating the Murcia Regional Association of Friends of Reading, based at the University of Murcia, through which promoted numerous reading workshops, as well as Murciano Book of the Year award, in collaboration with public institutions.
In 2006, he created the Friends of Reading Foundation, based in Murcia.
Become a lay apostle, host of workshops, meetings, contests and activities related to books and reading, this molinense devoted himself to his passion and love for literature and disseminated to various groups.
In his younger years he published numerous books on Marian themes or on youth, marriage, and others.
