The president and spokesman of the Popular Party Molina de Segura, Jos� �ngel Alfonso, today presented to the media through a statement, the two motions that will lead to the first Ordinary Plenary of the year.
Two motions to propose to the rest of the Political Parties the realization of individual institutional recognitions, one to Molina Basket and the other to the artisan nativity scene Jos� Antonio Ruiz Piqueras "Chicanete".
Molina Basket is one of the main basketball referents in the Murcia region.
Heir to a long basketball tradition in Molina de Segura, the club continues to preserve the historical legacy of the past, but with a renewed and dynamic spirit, which has made them one of the main institutions Murcian sport.
In September 2015, the club participated in its first tournament abroad, playing in Belfast against teams from Dublin, Galway and the Irish National Team.

These encounters with foreign teams have also occurred in prestigious tournaments within Spain, in cities such as M�laga, Valencia, Zaragoza or Madrid.
The icing on the cake for Molina Basket's international projection has been its designation as 'Member Nation of the Year' at the 2020 UNBies Awards granted by the United Nations of Basketball (UNB).
The recognition as the most outstanding member of 2020 worldwide is the most important among the seven awards given by the organization.
These awards of international character of the UNB value the work of the clubs inside and outside the field, observing both the sport work and the service to the community.
On the other hand, Jos� Antonio Ruiz Piqueras, popularly known as "Chicanete", was born on August 19, 1969 in Molina de Segura, and from a very young age he already showed his passion for the nativity scene, which led him to assemble his own nativity scene inspired by Molina de Segura in a garage, and which year has been increasing the number of artistic pieces to become a benchmark in the sector .
The Bel�n de "Chicanete" is a wonderful experience and unique in the Murcia region, where every year it adds new elements, made by Jos� Antonio in an artisanal way, and which make its belï More spectacular family.
"Chicanete" recreates the birth of Jesus in a special and peculiar way for the enjoyment of all those who come to enjoy his Family Nativity, since he has reproduced with his hands such emblematic places of our city as the Church of the Assumption, the Hermitage of San Roque, the Hermitage of the Holy Sepulcher, the former Vicente Theater, or the old Plaza del Casino, as well as 19th-century aesthetic houses, among others.
Jos� �ngel Alfonso has stated that "it is vital to institutionally recognize both the Molina Basket basketball club and" Chicanete ", and we hope that the other groups will join our motions".
