at the Villa Theater of Molina | The XXIV Virtual Choral Contest Villancicos de Molina, organized by the Molinense City Council and coordinated by the Coral Kod ly, will be held on Saturday, December 19, at 8:00 p.m., at the Villa de Molina Theater (on Avenida del Chorrico, n 10). The Department of Culture of the Molinense City Council, guided by its spirit of adaptation to the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, has sought, throughout this stage, alternative formulas to avoid the paralysis of the fen Less cultural, also necessary for the balance of the population, in Molina de Segura.
Along these lines, in collaboration with the Coral Kod ly, it has convened a special edition of the Molina Carols Choral Contest, which, thus, reaches its twenty-fourth edition without there being a gap in its course over so many years of promoting the Carols of Molina. In this special edition, the aim has been to support a work that the choirs have done during these months of confinement: in order not to lose contact between their members or with singing, the productions of videos that have proliferated throughout the choral world They were the result of the sum of what each singer prepared in their homes, thus contributing to reducing the risk of spreading the coronavirus.
Like so many activities in these months, this edition will have a virtual character and the jury will judge these videos that have been submitted to the contest. On the other hand, this format made it possible to extend the call to the whole world, which is why, for the first time, the contest has acquired an international character.
The Molina de Segura Christmas carols have been sent to choirs all over the planet, who already know of their existence and of Molina de Segura's project. In this way, the contest will have the participation of eight choirs from Costa Rica, Brazil, Madrid and Murcia.
Your participation consists of two videos, one on a free theme and the other that must be one of Molina's Christmas Carols. The jury will also be international and its work will be carried out both in person at the Villa de Molina Theater and through the live broadcast, streaming, which will be held and which can be seen both in the YouTube platform as on Facebook; It will only be necessary to connect with the respective channels of the Molina Christmas Carol Contest. The list of prizes is as follows: First prize: € 1,500 and accrediting diploma. Second prize: € 1,000 and accrediting diploma. Third prize: € 500 and accrediting diploma (Federation of Choirs of the Murcia Region Award). Prize of the public: € 300 and accrediting diploma.
