The Molina de Segura City Council presents the preliminary results of the COVID-19 geolocation map carried out by the University of Malaga (10/12/2020)

| The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Molina de Segura decreases and stands at 20 | As of yesterday, Wednesday December 9, Molina de Segura has a cumulative incidence in the last 7 days of 23.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitantsThe Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, presented at a press conference, today Thursday, December 10, in the Municipal Plenary Hall, the updated data on the incidence of the COVID-19 pandemic in the municipality and the results preliminary of the COVID-19 geolocation map, carried out by the Chair of Security, Emergencies and Catastrophes of the University of Malaga in collaboration with the Municipality of Molinense.

He was accompanied in the presentation by the Councilor for Sport and Health, Miguel Ángel Cantero García, and, via videoconference, the professor from the University of Malaga, attached to the Department of Geography, María Jesús Perles Roselló."This map, which is quite advanced," said the Mayor, "will help us to know the areas of the municipality where there is a greater transmission of the virus to be able to accurately design municipal actions in control and prevention.

We were beginning to see how the contagion curve fell in Molina de Segura, after a very hard month of November, and we were verifying how the incidence was reducing, day by day, approaching the levels of early August.

Although in these last seven days the indicators continue being positive, we must not lower our guard or relax.

We therefore have to continue to maintain interpersonal distance, wear the mask and comply with the rules of hand hygiene that we all know well.

It is the well-known rule of "three emes "to which we must add a fourth: caring for our elders.""In one week, in Molina de Segura the Accumulated Incidence per 100,000 inhabitants has gone from 62.6 cases, which we had on Wednesday, December 2, to 23.6 registered yesterday, 39 cases less.

We have therefore cut the weekly incidence in more than half.

The decrease has also been very significant in the Accumulated Incidence in fourteen days.

Last Wednesday we were 147.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

A week later, that figure was 89 cases, that is, 58, 5 minus ".As of yesterday, Wednesday, December 9, Molina de Segura has a total of 20 active cases, 22 less than on December 3.

So far in this second wave, the accumulated number of cases is 2,508.

The increase, in one week, has been 19 PCR positive, which represents an average of almost 3 daily cases.

A month ago that daily average was 41 cases.By basic health zones, the number of registered cases has also dropped considerably.

Thus, the Accumulated Incidence in fourteen days in the South Zone drops to 170.3 cases, in the North Zone that incidence is 63.6 cases, and in the East Zone, 39.1 cases. As Esther Clavero recalled, the Region of Murcia is, since yesterday, Wednesday, December 9, in Phase 1 of healthcare risk given that the number of hospital admissions of COVID patients in the last seven days has been below 400 and the The number of people admitted to Intensive Care Units, ICU, is less than one hundred.

On the other hand, the regional health alert level, like that corresponding to the municipality of Molina de Segura, is medium / high, as there is an accumulated Incidence between 75 and 250 cases after fourteen days, and between 50 and 150 a the seven days. This week the Regional Government, through an order from the Ministry of Health and a Decree from the President, both standards published yesterday in the BORM, has adopted the following measures that affect Molina de Segura.

On the one hand, the lifting of the perimeter confinement between the municipalities of the Region until next December 22, except in Los Alcázares and Torre Pacheco, towns that present an extreme alert level.

On the other hand, it is authorized that bars and restaurants can serve inside at 50 percent of their capacity.

In addition, the perimeter closure of the Region of Murcia is still in force, the limitation of movements between eleven at night and six in the morning and the maximum number of people in meetings remains at six."These measures will allow us to live the dates of Christmas, New Years and Kings with fewer restrictions, but they also demand that the public continue to take extreme precautions and a greater degree of responsibility," says the Mayor."We must congratulate ourselves that the healthcare pressure has dropped and the level of infections as well, but we must not forget that the virus continues to be with us and that the risk that the curve will skyrocket is still there.

It depends on our social and individual behavior.

To a great extent, moments to which we do not wish to return under any circumstances are repeated.

The epidemiological situation will determine how we will experience Christmas this year, which regardless of the data reported, will be very different from what we are used to.

"If the levels for those dates remain similar to the current ones, the Regional COVID Monitoring Committee plans to expand the maximum meeting capacity to 10 people on December 24, 25, 31 and January 1, as well as the review of the situation for Three Kings Day.

In addition, the entry into the Region of Murcia would be allowed to people who come to meet with their families on the days indicated and the curfew will be extended, also on those dates, that would be established between one thirty in the morning and six in the morning."Those that are coming are dates for solidarity with the most vulnerable, but also with the people who take care of us from the health services or protect us from the security forces.

Solidarity with the elderly and with the workers of the economic sectors to those that this pandemic is hitting the hardest, "says Clavero.

"The merchant in the corner store and the owner of the bar next to our house are our neighbors, with whom we live daily and with whom we form a community.

Now that they need us as customers, let's not turn our backs on them.

This is the time to support merchants and hoteliers by making our purchases in their establishments or making our drinks in their premises.Molina de Segura would not be the same without the great commercial and restaurant offer that we have and we must protect together ".Regarding the preliminary results of the COVID geolocation map being carried out by the University of Malaga in collaboration with the Molina de Segura City Council, the person responsible for the team that works on this map is the professor of said University, attached to the Department of Geography, María Jesús Perles Roselló, who has given an account of them:CARTOGRAPH OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC FOR THE MUNICIPALITY OF MOLINA DE SEGURAThe professors of the Department of Geography of the University of Malaga, María Jesús Perles Rosselló and Juan Francisco Sortino Barrionuevo, both specialists in Management and Territorial Analysis of Risk, participate together with the Chair of Emergency Security and Catastrophe of the UMA in the realization of a Study for advice on improving communication related to COVID-19 and associated mitigation measures for the Molina de Segura City Council.
