The City of Molina de Segura informs the public of the adoption of new measures following the declaration of Level 3 Alert in the Air Quality Zone Urban agglomeration of Murcia, in application of the PM10 and NO2 Framework Protocol for air pollution, which will be maintained at less all day today Saturday, February 29.

As reported by the Councilor for the Environment, Mariano Vicente Albaladejo, "we have been informed by the General Directorate of the Environment of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia of exceeding the levels of particle pollution in the measuring stations that record the air quality in the urban agglomeration of Murcia, which includes part of our municipality, and which have exceeded level 3 (Alert) ".

Given this situation, the Municipal Action Framework Protocol applies in environmental episodes of contamination of NO2 and PM10 (Nitrogen Dioxide and Particles less than 10 microns).

For this reason, it is necessary to reduce artificial pollutant emissions and avoid risk situations through measures that are more effective.

Municipal environmental technicians have evaluated the most appropriate measures contemplated in said protocol and have established the following as more appropriate for Molina de Segura, which will be applied in coordination with the Local Police:

From 14.30 to 18.00 on Saturday, February 29, the streets of Estación and Jesuita Hernández Pérez will be cut off to traffic.

Starting at 12 noon on Saturday, local police officers will monitor traffic in areas of maximum influx giving fluidity to avoid traffic jams and retentions.

Police officers will identify and sanction agricultural burns in orchard and field areas.
