The hamlet of Los Valientes de Molina de Segura is currently awaiting the construction of a treatment plant, which allows the start-up of the infrastructure that has already been carried out and financed by the City of Molina de Segura in matters of sanitation.
The construction project for this treatment plant was approved a few days ago by ESAMUR.
In 2016, this need for the district was transferred to the Regional Assembly and in 2017 a heading for the drafting of the construction project of a treatment plant was obtained in the Regional Budgets.
"Since Esther Clavero assumed the Mayor's Office of the locality, the City Council has executed all the works that from the Regional Government had been scheduled for the development of the sanitation network in the consolidated urban land area of ​​said district, the latter financed by the session, for an approximate amount of 600,000 euros, "explains the Councilor for Public Roads and Municipal Works, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez.
Similarly, the transfer of land for the construction of the treatment plant has been processed.
"It has also assumed the cost of the general junction collector between the future treatment plant and the local sanitation system that, added to the above, reaches a total of about 800,000 euros," says Martinez, adding that, "despite the economic and management effort that was required of us, and that the City of Molina de Segura has assumed, the sanitation network cannot be started until ESAMUR carries out the construction works of the wastewater treatment plant in Los Valientes. "
The City Council was forced to pay for the works of the said collector at the direction of the General Water Directorate (about 200,000 euros).
However, the last Monitoring Commission has revealed that it is indeed the Autonomous Community that must bear this expense.
Following the conclusions of the Monitoring Committee, the General Water Directorate has requested the appropriate documentation from the City of Molina de Segura to reimburse the cost of the works.
The Councilor of Public Way has expressed that "in all this process, which began in 2016, the Municipal Government of Molina de Segura has not ceased its efforts so that this basic service, finally, was implemented in Los Valientes".
On April 26, 2019, a motion to demand that ESAMUR tender and build the new wastewater treatment plant in Los Valientes was approved at the Plenary Session of the Molina de Segura City Council.
"It seems that, now yes, this year and after a long wait and countless demands from the Molinense session, the Regional Government will tender the works so necessary for the development of the district and for the proper management of the purification of the municipality" , indicates the Councilor of Public Way.
"More than 4 years demanding that the Regional Government comply with the district of Los Valientes while from Molina de Segura we did everything that was in our hands. This town hall has even paid for works that did not correspond to us, as has already been demonstrated , at the request of the General Directorate of Water, and, finally, it seems that the sewage treatment plant in Los Valientes will be a reality. . It can't take longer, "concludes Martínez.
