The Natural Volunteering Program ¡Voluntari @ s Naturalmente !, promoted by the Department of Environment of the City of Molina de Segura, resumed activities after the summer break and already in the middle of autumn, on Saturday, October 26, with the activity in the that volunteers will collaborate in the conditioning of the Soto de Hijuela after the effects of the cold September drop.
The volunteers who participate in this activity will know what the effects of the flood have been on the sotos del Río and on the riverside vegetation, and will collaborate in the recovery of this vegetation with the cleaning of alcorques, enhancement of trees and elimination of trees. invasive vegetation.
A brief introductory training will be given on the characteristic riverbank vegetation and on the details of the actions to be developed.
As explained by the Councilor for the Environment, Mariano Vicente Albaladejo, "with this activity of the Environmental Volunteering Program it is intended to involve the citizens of Molina de Segura of the actions to improve and recover the riverside vegetation, as it favors the lamination of avenues, retards the flooding by flooding and occupying the natural groves, prevents the proliferation of reeds, stabilizes the margins and slows down the force of the waters that can erode them. The activities of this program take place on the last Saturday of each month and are aimed at all those over 14 years of age interested in the conservation of natural spaces and in the improvement of the municipality.
