The Councilor for Education of the City of Molina de Segura meets with the associations of Elders and neighbors of El Fenazar to demand that adult education be maintained in the hamlet (23/10/2019)

The Councilor for Education of the City of Molina de Segura, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, has held a meeting with neighborhood representatives of the district of El Fenazar to let them know the motion that will go to the Plenary Session next Monday, October 28, which will ask That the offer of adult training be maintained in the area.

The Ministry of Education, through the General Directorate of Vocational Training and Special Regime Education, has decided to suppress adult education that until now was being studied at the Vega Media Center, although there is a sufficient demand that justifies Maintain this service, also a priority for the area due to the special characteristics of these population centers, which have more problems to access this type of education due to transportation problems, among others.

Martínez has picked up the neighborhood lawsuit, which has the support of the San Isidro El Fenazar, La Albarda, Comala and La Hurona Neighbors and Neighbors Association, and has been backed by more than 150 signatures that require classes to be maintained both for the 2019-2020 academic year, as in the following ones and with the same material, economic and human resources.

The Councilor for Education says that "the regional government cannot let rural areas die and that measures such as the suppression of adult education classes accelerate the depopulation of our districts."

He also adds that "education is the best investment to keep a population nucleus alive and guarantee its future and that, in addition, the decision of the Ministry of Education does not meet objective criteria, as there is sufficient demand for places for this training offer to be recover. "

Currently, the City of Molina de Segura has signed an agreement the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, on the development of the training offer for Adult Education by which the municipality of Molina de Segura assigns the land and assumes the expenses derived from the installations.

The text of the motion states that "the supplementary legal report of the aforementioned agreement refers to the Report Justification report of the People's Education Study Service of 11/20/18, whose reality has hardly been modified a year later", so that neighbors, neighbors and the Department of Education itself reaffirm the requirement to the regional administration to restore adult training in an area.
