The City of Molina de Segura, through the departments of Mobility and Public Road, Municipal Works and Infrastructure, has made a total investment of 107,916.83 euros in the pedestrian works carried out in Serreta Street, and 15,302.05 euros in roof waterproofing work in the children's pavilion of CEIP La Purísima, both actions in the hamlet of El Llano de Molina.

The Councilor for Public Roads, Municipal Works and Infrastructure, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, the Mobility Councilor, Eliseo García Cantó, and municipal technicians, have made a visit to the works on Wednesday, October 16.

Next, together with the Councilor for Culture, Soledad Nortes Navarro, and the President of the Neighborhood Association of the Castle District, David Marcos, have also made a visit to the memorial mural in tribute to the Mirador del Castillo La Alcazaba and the old wall from the Castle District.

The pedestrianization works carried out in Serreta Street, between Ronda de Levante and Avenida de la Eras, in El Llano de Molina, are one of the actions included in the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI), Molina 2020 Avanza Contigo, which It has a total budget of 12,500,000 euros, of which 80%, 10,000,000 euros, is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the remaining 20%, 2,500,000 euros, by the City of Molina de Segura , for the realization of sustainable and integrated urban development actions from its resolution until 2023. The works have involved an investment of 107,916.83 euros, by the Department of Mobility, and have been carried out by the Pavasal Empresa Constructora, SA.

Serreta Street joins the Industrial Estate of the same name with the district, passing in front of CEIP La Purísima and the Infant School of El Llano de Molina.

The circumstance of the existence of these two educational centers of different stages, facing each other, generated the influx of large numbers of vehicles at certain times of the day, as well as a daily car flow that through this route access the La Serreta Industrial Estate .

As a result of this massive influx of vehicles, the arrival at the school on foot became somewhat complicated and insecure, so that from the City of Molina de Segura we opted for the pedestrianization of the section of street that affected the entrances of these Teaching centers and the implementation of a deterrent parking lot on a municipal plot located a few meters away, with an area of 3,000 m2 and an estimated capacity of 120 seats.

The pedestrianization works have meant the paving of 1,100 m2, the placement of street furniture, the renovation of street lighting for a more efficient one with LED technology to achieve energy savings, and the planting of trees with their corresponding irrigation network to provide Shadow the area.

Likewise, the connection has been made through a 2 meter wide sidewalk from this new pedestrian zone to the La Serreta Industrial Estate, in order to maximize mobility on foot between this work center and the hamlet of El Llano de Molina

As for the waterproofing works of the roof of the children's pavilion of the CEIP La Purísima, in El Llano, the investment amounts to 15,302.05 euros and has been carried out by the Department of Education, as an improvement action in public schools.

The new commemorative mural in tribute to the Mirador del Castillo La Alcazaba and the old wall of the Barrio del Castillo is located on the front and side façade of the Cristo Rey Building, on Calle Cultura, on the corner of Calle Honda, in Barrio del Castillo, and has It was made by the Yeclano artist Jorge Ortuño Terol.

This is a project of the Neighborhood Neighborhood Castle Association, which has had the collaboration of the Department of Public Road and Culture of the Molinense City Council, which have invested about 4,076.61 euros in its implementation.

It is one of the plastic interventions designed for the revaluation of the Barrio del Castillo, using the walls of the building as a canvas to pay tribute to this neighborhood that is so important in the history of the municipality.

Through painting, artistic representations of emblematic motifs of the neighborhood, its history and its legends have been carried out.

Among other reasons, in the mural painting they appear reflected: the Arab wall, as well as the myth of the underground passages, the architecture of the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, or the Restaurant La Maita.

All this, taking into account the architecture of the building and always acting in harmony with it.

It has a modern aesthetic, consistent with the architectural style, which, in turn, gives rise to abstract and creative aesthetic solutions that go beyond mere photographic reproduction, taking into account the coherence of the color palette and the complexity of the architecture (openings, doors, etc.).

Jorge Ortuño Terol (Yecla, 1993), known in the world of urban art as Wild Jungle, is a plastic artist who works combining organic abstraction with figurative motives.

He is very interested in formal experimentation with spray and other urban art techniques.

His work is rich in original and diverse textures that derive from his work processes.

Although he is based in Madrid for work reasons, he is currently involved in collaborative projects with neighborhoods and towns in the Region of Murcia, through which he tries to strike a balance between the essential reasons of the place and his particular vision of wall painting .

He has a special affection for the Molina de Segura Castle District, as he has close relatives who reside in the area and he has known him since his childhood.

Fruit of the good relationship with the neighbors of the neighborhood, of dialogue and consensus, this project was born, through which it is intended to give the importance it deserves through this pictorial tribute.
