The City of Molina de Segura starts tomorrow, Monday, September 16, a service for those affected by the serious floods to process claims for damages (15/09/2019)

The Department of Social Welfare opens a Social Assistance Office, a free service that will be launched on Tuesday, September 17

The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, has announced that the new Service of Attention to the neighbors affected by the heavy floods for processing claims for damages will be launched tomorrow, Monday, September 16, from 09.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00, at the headquarters of the Legal Department, located on the first floor of the City Council.

The devastating effects of DANA on the municipality have caused extensive damage of various kinds, directly affecting a large number of neighbors.

For this reason, the Local Government Board agreed, on Saturday, September 14, in an extraordinary and urgent session, the request to the Government of Spain of the declaration of Molina de Segura as "an area seriously affected by a civil protection emergency", which until 2007 was known as a "catastrophic zone" declaration.

Together with this request, the Central Government will be urged to approve the measures, grants and subsidies established in the state regulations aimed at restoring the situation, as well as the creation of a Monitoring and Coordination Commission, consisting of representatives of state, regional and local administrations.

This action is joined by the Mayor's initiative to make available to citizens a specific ATTENTION SERVICE to provide those affected by DANA with the INFORMATION and ADVICE NEEDED TO PROCESS CLAIMS FOR PERSONAL AND MATERIAL DAMAGES SUFFERED.

To this end, two direct attention telephone numbers have been enabled, 968 388 568 and 682 61 77 57, as well as the address of the Municipal Legal Services, at the headquarters of the Legal Department, located on the first floor of the City Council, in schedule from 09.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00, in order to guarantee the rights of neighbors and expedite the processing of their applications.

This service will be operational from tomorrow, Monday, September 16, begging those affected who wish to use it to make a telephone appointment, through the numbers indicated, in order to avoid unnecessary crowds and waiting.

In order to facilitate claims, users must provide their ID, copy of home, accident, life, automobile or any other insurance policies they have, as well as the account number (IBAN) to which they wish to be transferred. the compensation that may apply.

In the case of personal damages, they must provide medical proof of the assistance initially received and, regarding material damages, list of all the damages suffered (remember that for legal purposes the damages suffered by animals are considered material damages) as well as invoices or budgets of the expenses incurred to date to mitigate the effects of the storm, including expenses for eviction and loss of habitability of housing.

With regard to damaged property, and in order to facilitate the work of the experts, we must remember that those affected must keep the remains of damaged property available to them, and if not possible they should take photographs of its withdrawal for the purpose of its subsequent assessment.

The latter is very important since in case of not conserving the remains of the damaged goods, their valuation and subsequent compensation will be impossible.

The City Council reminds all those affected that the communication to the insurance companies or to the Insurance Compensation Consortium, where appropriate, must be made within a maximum period of 7 days after the damage occurred or since it became known the same;

That is why it is necessary that this communiqué has the maximum diffusion among the citizens of the municipality to avoid the passing of said term.

WITHDRAWAL OF SENSES AND CLEANING OF PUBLIC ROADS AFFECTED BY FLOODS

As the level of water in the flooded streets and roads has been decreasing, the Molinense City Council continues at a good pace with the work of cleaning mud and stones, and distribution of containers in all the affected areas for the removal of goods, both in the Campo de Molina as in the districts of the Huerta de Molina.

As for the people evacuated in Molina de Segura, about 37 people were still staying this morning.

MANAGEMENT OF COLLECTION OF ANIMAL BODIES IN THE PUBLIC ROUTE AND OF PARTICULARS BEFORE THE CURRENT EMERGENCY SITUATION

Given the emergency situation that the municipality is suffering and due to the presence of animal carcasses in areas that have suffered floods, the City of Molina de Segura puts at the service of all residents of the municipality a FREE Body Collection Service of animals, both on public and private roads, before the prohibition of dumping of animal carcasses in containers, rivers, ditches, etc., in accordance with current regulations, which indicates that an authorized company must manage it.

The City of Molina de Segura announces the opening of a Social Assistance Office, a free service to serve people with social needs affected by serious floods, which will be attended by social workers, at the headquarters of the Department of Social Welfare, in the Integral Center La Cerámica, from 09.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00, and by phone, at number 682 617 757.
