The City of Molina de Segura activates the Territorial Civil Protection Plan due to heavy rainfall and suspends all activities planned for Thursday, September 12 (12/09/2019)

The City of Molina de Segura has activated this Thursday morning, September 12, the Territorial Civil Protection Plan (Municipal Emergency Plan) due to heavy rainfall, as agreed by the Local Government Board, meeting urgently and extraordinarily, chaired by the Mayor of the municipality, Esther Clavero Mira.

Previously, the mayor has also chaired the CECOPAL meeting, with the assistance of councilors from the government team, municipal technicians and the service company SERCOMOSA, Local Police, and Civil Protection, given the red alert situation due to heavy rainfall.

Among the decisions adopted is the SUSPENSION of all the festive, sports and cultural municipal activities scheduled for today, Thursday, September 12 in Molina de Segura.

In addition, the SUSPENSION of the weekly market of the Company Park is announced, which was scheduled for Friday, September 13, and, following the indications of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Region of Murcia, the SUSPENSION of all the Teaching activities planned for tomorrow, Friday, September 13 at all the educational centers of the municipality (Infant and Primary Education schools, as well as municipal nursery schools).

From the Molinense session, notices were issued Wednesday to the population to remove their vehicles from floodways and garages, such as Avenida del Chorrico, San Juan Street, Jesuit Street Hernandez Pérez, Station Street, and garden areas.

Locate yourself in high areas and call 092 (Local Police) or 112.

- Close and secure windows and awnings.

- Check roof, downspouts and drains.

- Place documents and objects high.

- Keep in mind that power cuts and water cuts may occur.

- Consider the safety of your pets or animals.

- Only inform yourself through official channels of the City Council or of the Emergency Services.

- Anticipate the medications you may need.

- Teach your whole family to disconnect water, electricity and gas.
