In summer 2018, through the Participatory Budgets, and with the technical assistance of the Department of Environment, landscaping began on this green artery.

Following these works, the area has become a passageway for citizens on their daily walks, and a meeting point for the group of seniors, especially petanque fans, since during the past year the number of tracks of this sport modality.

This group of elders sent to the Department of Environment the request for an urban garden integrated in said garden area, which would serve them for their activities of healthy active aging.

The technical services of the Department of Environment designed and executed an urban garden with an extension of a quarter of tahulla (280 m² approx.) Of arable area, plus many others between residential and storage areas.

The installation of the Department of the Environment has been framed in the Volunteer project By and for the Elderly, which is carried out by the Department of Social Welfare together with the Association for Active and Healthy Aging of Molina de Segura.

With this project it is intended that the city recovers its Huerta spirit by planting local varieties of vegetables, in an ecological way, and recovering a disused space in the town center.

This area, of abundant passage of people, now serves as an example for citizens, disseminating the values of traditional and organic agriculture, especially before the schools that visit it, as well as for the realization of intergenerational experiences that take advantage of the knowledge of our elders and promote their contact with youth, without forgetting the importance of promoting active and healthy aging.

It is a look at past traditional, ecological, family and active past values.
