The Vega Plaza de Molina de Segura Shopping Center has announced the opening of 7 cinemas by the end of this year 2019. The initiative has been presented at a press conference, today Tuesday, September 10, at the Molinense City Hall, by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Culture, Soledad Nortes Navarro, the CEO of the ASA Group, Raúl Serrano Moll, and the Manager of NeoCine, an exhibition company responsible for the management of the rooms, Rocío Freixinós Alcaraz.
The ASA Business Group, a family business in Elche with more than 50 years of experience, is the current majority owner of the Vega Plaza Shopping Center.
It was in March 2015 when this business group acquires the Molinense shopping center, offering improvements throughout the commercial area and facade.
The next big step was in June 2018, when the ASA Group buys its share of the shopping center from El Corte Inglés (Supercor), equipped with 2,533m²;
where after several negotiations, in December 2018, a contract is signed with Mercadona, which will open in this year 2019.
Finally, it is in this last quarter of this year when the mall takes a new step with the purchase of movie theaters at the Aliseda real estate.
These cinemas are located on the second floor and this past August an agreement has been reached with the company NeoCine, which will be responsible for the complete management of the rooms.
The idea is to open 7 cinemas by the end of the year and thus be able to spend a Christmas movie in Molina de Segura.
The entry into service of movie theaters will come from the remodeling of furniture and projection systems, given that the previous equipment was scrapped as a result of the bank embargo.
This action ensures the technological update of the projection and hearing systems, as well as the comfort of the spectators with new seats.
The Mayor stressed that "this initiative shows the economic and commercial takeoff that Molina de Segura is experiencing. The cinema returns to our town and arrives with an improved and renewed offer of leisure and commerce, two of the great engines of the modern economy I would like to thank Molina de Segura for the great commitment that the ASA group is making through the Vega Plaza Shopping Center, where the opening of new stores is becoming a constant that will soon be strengthened with the entry into service of a large supermarket of the Mercadona chain, a whole commercial locomotive, which together with the rooms that Neocine will open, will mark a before and after in the center's path ".
"The fact that a great exhibiting company like Neocine sees in Molina de Segura a business niche also speaks clearly of the great push that our city has. From here I also want to thank that this company has set its sights on our town, and I guarantee who have been fully successful in taking over the management of the seven rooms of the Vega Plaza Shopping Center, "says Esther Clavero.
The City of Molina de Segura has monitored the entire process that culminates in the return of the cinema to the town and has been actively involved in it, to the extent of its competences.
"We have advised and supported the now owners of the property with the noble objective of recovering for our city something that should never have disappeared," said the Mayor.
