The City of Molina de Segura allocates 25,000 euros to eight entities of the municipality for projects and social insertion activities in 2019 (30/08/2019)

The presentation of the grant of subsidies to non-profit entities of Molina de Segura during this year 2019 took place today Friday, August 30, in the Plenary Hall of the City Council.

The First Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, has attended.

The Department of Social Welfare has promoted, for the third year, the granting of a subsidy to non-profit entities, under competitive competition, during the fiscal year of 2019, in the field of social promotion and insertion programs, which operate in the municipality of Molina de Segura, with a budget item totaling 25,000 euros.

The beneficiaries of the subsidies have been those associations and institutions, legally constituted, that, meeting the requirements established in the bases (domicile and stable operation in Molina de Segura, and lack of profit motive), have been presented in the corresponding term.

In total, 10 entities have been submitted and the following eight have been selected:

As explained by the Mayor, "with these grants, the City Council provides coverage for the care and prevention of social needs and problems, promoting social sensitivity, solidarity and cooperation initiatives by the citizens of Molina de Segura through the local associations, contributing to the cohesion of citizen collaboration against situations of exclusion and social discrimination. "

Since 2017 there is an authorized budget line open to all entities that develop social projects in the municipality and do not have agreement financing by the City Council.

The budget line was raised from € 20,000 to € 25,000 last year 2018.

The amounts granted to the different entities have been established based on criteria of transparency and technical management.

The call establishes a public scale, which has been used in the technical proposal for the concession.

In addition, a technical commission is established that determines the proposal for the agreement of the Local Government Board.

The Councilor for Social Welfare has stressed that "80% of the entities that have attended have benefited. The subsidized projects serve more than 600 people, with actions that complement the activity of municipal social services."

The subsidized projects are the following:

1. ALBORES ASSOCIATION

It carries out a project called Street Intervention, aimed at children and adolescents in situations of socio-family conflict.

The activities complement the actions of the programs of the Department of Social Welfare through therapeutic and individualized therapeutic projects that facilitate the incorporation of the child into society.

It is foreseen through the project that 5 children are needed that require therapeutic actions derived by the technicians of the Department, since it is a resource demanded in the municipality to cover these needs.

2. ASSOCIATION HELP TO RENAL DISEASE (ADAER)

The project presented by the entity is called Comprehensive Care for People with Kidney Disease and provides a service that addresses the individual and group demands of the group and that are aimed at improving the quality of life of people with kidney disease through psychological care and nutritional, physiotherapy and rehabilitation treatment and get an approach to social resources of the municipality.

3. DISLÉXIC ASSOCIATION OF MURCIA (ADIXMUR)

The project presented by the entity is aimed at children with dyslexia problems in a situation of social vulnerability.

It collects a series of performances, providing individual educational sessions and group social skills workshops that cover the needs of a group of children between 5 and 12 years old whose families have low income and cannot afford the treatment.

It is expected to serve 25 minors.

4. MURCIAN ASSOCIATION OF LUPUS AND OTHER RELATED DISEASES

The project presented by the entity is aimed at people with lupus disease to promote physical and emotional well-being through physiotherapy and psychological attention sessions.

The project aims to expand the knowledge of social resources in the municipality for this group.

It covers community and leisure and leisure time objectives and activities, craft workshops and cultural outings, which improve the quality of life of the sick and their families.

5. ASSOCIATION AFFECTED RETINA REGION MURCIA (RETIMUR)

The project presented by the association offers a comprehensive care service for people affected by retinal disease to improve the quality of life at work, social, educational and community level.

Information, guidance and advisory activities are carried out regarding advances and technical means on retinal disease.

Dissemination and awareness of the association towards the general population through talks, conferences and conferences.

6. TEMEHI ASSOCIATION

The project presented by the Association aims to rehabilitate women with alcoholism problems and addiction to other pathologies.

A 24-hour continuous care resource is provided on a residential basis, 365 days a year.

The entity has a day center and outpatient treatment and a multidisciplinary team of social worker, educator and psychologist, who are responsible for sports activities, cleaning, sociotherapeutic workshops, family psychoeducation groups, etc., aimed at women beneficiaries of the project.

7. ASTRADE ASSOCIATION

The entity has been providing resources to the group of people with a generalized developmental disorder (ASD) and their families for more than 20 years.

The subsidized project has as main objective to improve and promote the living conditions of these people through actions and developing motor coordination workshops with physical exercise.

To do this, they start up with this project an area of ​​strengthening and indoor functional gym adapted.

8. MOLINENSE ASSOCIATION RARE DISEASES (AMER)

It is an association constituted at the local level with the purpose of contributing to promoting information and dissemination of all aspects related to rare diseases.

It provides a service of attention and information as well as tasks of diffusion, sensitization, talks and workshops, with all those aspects related to any rare disease.

It has 60 members and works since 2009 in the municipality of Molina de Segura.
