The free school canteen service, which the Department of Social Welfare provides this summer at the CEIP el Sifón, is complemented this August with the realization of recreational, educational and sports activities at the El Romeral Sports Center, with the aim of offering Children who benefit from this service have a healthy leisure during the summer period.
The activities, in which an average of 60 children participate throughout the month, are carried out in the hours before lunch, between 10 am and 1 pm, and are directed by three leisure and free time monitors, with the participation of technical-educators of the Department of Social Welfare, who develop functions of supervision and monitoring.
This program, which also constitutes a conciliatory element of family and work life, is carried out for the third consecutive year, although this time the schedule is extended and the place where it is performed is changed.
The action involves a municipal investment of 3,869.43 euros charged to the departure of school canteen.
The activities, which include multisport and swimming pool, are aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 16 who are immersed in an intervention developed by the technicians of the Department of Social Welfare of the City of Molina de Safe.
There is also the possibility that other minors outside these actions participate in this program.
During the three daily hours of the program, children develop social skills, activities to promote values ​​for social integration and games that enhance education in values, cooperation and conflict resolution.
The program also has a transport service, with a special route for the participants, which begins at 9.30 am from the north of the municipality to the El Romeral Sports Center, where the activity takes place.
There will be two buses, one 55 seats and another 28, which will make stops at the Avenida de Madrid, Plaza de España, Plaza de la Constitución and Pío XII.
The free summer school canteen service for children from families in need or risk of social exclusion is provided during July and August and has a double objective: to provide children during the holiday period with adequate food for their needs, respecting the differences cultural, religious, as well as food intolerances and allergies;
and facilitate a space where children can reinforce convenient eating, hygiene, relational, educational and social integration habits.
