The exhibition Emotion-Art, by the association AFAD Molina, organized by the Tourism Department of the Molina de Segura Town Hall, opens to the public from June 27 to July 28, in the Los Postigos Exhibition Hall (in Calle Pensionista, n 3).
The inauguration ceremony took place today, Thursday, June 27, with the assistance of the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, the Councilor for Culture and Youth, Soledad Nortes Navarro, and the coordinator of the exhibition, Yanira Carrero Gómez.
The sample can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
Emotion-Art gathers a wide sample of the works realized by members of AFAD Molina in the workshops of Painting, Creativity and Ceramics.
The works carried out are arranged in three rooms.
On the first floor there are exempt pieces and ceramic hanging work.
On the first floor, representations that combine different activities and techniques of artistic expression.
And on the second floor there are works developed with different pictorial techniques.
The exhibition tour is guided by photographs of the creative process, giving prominence to the hands as a tool, as a means for creation.
Hands as a means of expression, communication.
Hands that tell what sometimes words can not.
The main objective of the work carried out has been to stimulate the cognitive area of ​​people suffering from Alzheimer's or other types of dementia, through artistic, manual and creative practices, in order to slow cognitive deterioration.
The various works have been developed in a space of well-being and trust, reinforcing and creating creative abilities, exercising memory through the symbolic and stimulating creativity through the senses.
"We dream of a future without Alzheimer's in which to grow older is one more stage of life, with fullness to enjoy it," says the coordinator of the exhibition.
