The Molina de Segura City Council has organized a Summer Camp for children participating in the Integral Service of the Family and Minors Program of the Department of Social Welfare.
8 children between 12 and 16 years old participate, of those who habitually frequent the municipal resource, selected by their reference educators, taking into account their attitude, predisposition, behavior, etc., throughout this last course.
The camp takes place in the Albergue Siglo XXI of El Puerto de Mazarrón on June 26, 27 and 28.
The Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, accompanied them today Wednesday before leaving for Mazarrón.
The objectives of this activity are: to offer a socio-educational resource of coexistence to the minors participating in the Integral Service of the Seniors' Class;
complement the actions that are carried out throughout the year from this Service;
enhance social skills in minors acquired in the service throughout the course;
and give the opportunity to enjoy a summer activity highly demanded by both minors, as their families, and that, due to their socioeconomic and particular circumstances, can not be carried out through other leisure offers in the area.
The idea is based on the assessment of the two technical educators who develop the service throughout the course, as a reward for the good development of the same and the attitudes and skills acquired by the children.
The activity is financed by the municipality of Molinense, within the budget line that covers Support Activities for Families and Special Families, and its total cost is 1802.90 euros.
Two municipal technicians from the Family and Minors Program will accompany the children at all times during the three days, although the dynamics at the Albergue Siglo XXI will be carried out by the leisure and free time monitors with an accredited degree from the company CHARATE, Activities and Adventure sports.
As the Councilor for Social Welfare points out, "this activity involves putting value on the objectives achieved with the minors, who for several years have assiduously attended the Integra Service to complement the development of the intervention that from the Family Program has been carried out with these In addition, the activity also makes visible the alternatives that from the Department of Social Welfare are launched to reduce, or almost even eradicate, any inequality among the child population of the municipality by the social, family and economic circumstances that come to happen in their families. "
The pioneering initiative of this summer camp in this population sector provides the basis for new actions to be initiated in the Integra Service in the coming years, given the special relevance and acceptance that the activity has had in the families of these children, who So far they had not been able to enjoy such a desired activity.
