Molina de Segura City Council participates in a workshop of the European Commission on evaluation and monitoring of sustainable development strategies co-financed by the ERDF (26/06/2019)

The Town Council of Molina de Segura participates in the fourth workshop of the Directorate General of Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission, dedicated on this occasion to the evaluation and monitoring of sustainable development strategies co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, FEDER .

The workshop is held today, Wednesday, June 26 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, in Madrid.

Together with the European Commission, the Ministries of Finance, Territorial Policy and Housing are present, in addition to the High Commissioner of the 2030 Agenda, highlighting the importance of an integral approach in the application of European funds.

The Coordinator of European Projects of the Molinense City Council, Antonio Gomariz Pastor, highlights the importance for the consistory to be present in the main Spanish forum of urban scope, where the main strategies of the Urban Area of ​​the European Union for the period are debated and proposed. 2021-2027, forum where the challenges of the cities for the next decade are presented and how the European funds will co-finance these challenges better.

Important issues such as the transition to a decarbonised economy, the obligation to radically transform the urban environment to base its development on a sustainable urban model, the commitment of citizens and businesses to make this change possible, the reduction and elimination of The use of plastics, etc., are the object of study, to consider how to build committed, mobilized and leading cities for solutions for the future and the great challenges of the development of the planet.

The afternoon session is dedicated to the preparation of the Follow-up Committee of the Plurirregional Operational Plan of Spain, which is part of the Molina 2020 Avanza Contigo strategy, a committee of the European Commission that evaluates the progress of urban strategies.

The financial forecast of the municipal strategy is that by the end of 2019, approximately 25% of the total will be hired or being hired, in the first semester of actual management.
