The project submitted to the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) to be co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) by 80% will allow a substantial saving in the energy bill and in the emission of carbon dioxide
The Department of European Projects of the City of Molina de Segura has submitted to the Ministry for Ecological Transition the Energy Rehabilitation Action Program I, approved by the Governing Board on May 24, to attend the call for aid to favor the transition to a low carbon economy, within the scope of Measure 6 of Royal Decree 316/2019, Renewal of lighting, lighting and exterior signaling installations, framed within the specific objective of Energy Efficiency in buildings and Infrastructure and Public services.
The project, prepared by the Department of Industry, and with a cost slightly higher than 8.5 million euros, includes the replacement of 17,293 lighting points of 20,680 existing in the municipality, a renovation of 84% of the luminaries existing totals.
The actions will allow significant savings in installed power and energy consumption, guaranteeing the reduction of light pollution due to the characteristics of the LED type luminaires to be installed.
The program supposes a reduction of the installed power of 45% and 1,821.78 Tm CO2 / year.
In addition to these reductions, it would also achieve an economic saving of more than 600,000 euros per year.
The City Council comes to this call with the objective of obtaining the help of the ERDF that allows in the next four years to reduce carbon dioxide emissions with energy saving and efficiency measures and also contribute to local economic development.
