The Environmental Volunteering Program Volunteers Naturally !, promoted by the Department of the Environment of the Molina de Segura City Council, organizes a tour of the La Fuente Green Corridor, in which volunteers will make a diagnosis of their situation, the Saturday, May 25, at 10 a.m.
The volunteering that participates in this activity will have the opportunity to collaborate in the analysis of the current situation of the Green Corridor La Fuente, which was designed with the aim of connecting different natural spaces of natural interest of the southeast sector of the municipality of Molina de Safe.
From the landscape point of view, the area presents interesting natural areas connected through two important channels of public hydraulic domain, such as the Rambla de las Monjas and the Rambla de las Salinas.
In addition, this corridor crosses important wetlands such as Fuente del Abrevadero, Charla de Los Tarays, Fuente de Setenil, Charca de los Conejos and Charca de los Olivos.
In the corridor are located mainly two forest formations, in which the pine forest dominates as an adult, such as the forest green area of ​​the Cuesta de los Melones in La Alcayna and the foothills of the Salinas.
Volunteers will be briefly trained to know their natural, landscape, historical and cultural values ​​and will mark the technical criteria that should be considered in order to analyze it.
According to the Councilor for the Environment, Juan Alcaide Quirós, "with this activity of the Environmental Volunteering Program, the citizens of Molina de Segura can contribute to the protection and conservation of one of the areas that constitute the important eco-cultural heritage of the southeast I encourage all the population to participate in the knowledge, value and conservation of our natural environment, collaborating every month in the activities of the Environmental Volunteer Program of Molina de Segura, and especially, I want to show my gratitude to all volunteers for their involvement and contribution to the dissemination of the environmental values ​​of our municipality. "
The activities of this program are held on the last Saturday of each month and are aimed at all those over 14 years old interested in the conservation of natural areas and the improvement of the municipality.
