The Cabildo Superior de Confraternias Pasionarias de Molina de Segura organizes the Penitential Procession with the image of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno on Friday, April 12, at 10 pm, coinciding with the celebration of the Friday of Dolores.
The procession will make its exit from the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption of Molina de Segura and will cross the streets of the old town, in the Castle District (Pensioner, Benavente, Plaza de Cristo Rey, San Vicente, Vázquez de Mella, Cid Campeador and Juan Sandoval), to finish again in the Plaza de la Iglesia de Ntra. Sra. de la Asunción, where the encounter with the images of La Dolorosa will take place.
The Penitential Procession, in Via Crucis, was recovered eighteen years ago, after almost forty years of absence and the total restoration of the image, which will be carried by representatives of the four fraternities that make up the Cabildo (Brotherhood of the Triumphal Entry of Jesus in Jerusalem, Illustrious Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of Sorrows, Venerable Brotherhood of the Holy Burial, and Illustrious, Venerable and Antiquisima Archconfraternity of the Rosary and of the Resurrection).
The procession will be accompanied by the sound of the drums of the band of Good Friday and the lighting of the candles carried by the people accompanying the procession.
The Nazareno de Molina will wear its old tunic, restored a few years ago by the Cabildo Superior de Cofradías, and will be carried by a throne made of silver alpaca.
On the other hand, after the Penitential Procession with the image of Our Father Jesus Nazareno, the Procession will take place with the image of the Virgen de los Dolores, at 11.00 pm, which will be transferred from the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption to the Hermitage of San Roque.
This procession is organized by the Illustrious Brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of Sorrows.
