The act of signing an agreement between the City of Molina de Segura, the University of Murcia and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena for the creation of the Interuniversity Open Chair for Innovation and Participation took place today, Thursday, March 21, at the headquarters of the Rector of the University of Murcia, in the Convalescence Building.
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the Rector of the University of Murcia, José Luján Alcaraz, the Rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Alejandro Díaz Morcillo, the Vice Chancellor for Employment, Entrepreneurship and Society of the University of Murcia, Alicia Rubio Bañón, the President of the Council of Transparency of the Region of Murcia, José Molina Molina, the Councilor for Economy, Finance, Promotion and Economic Strategy, José de Haro González, and the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Pedro Jesús Martínez Bathrooms.
The purpose of the agreement is to grant a nominal grant from the City Council to both universities, for an amount of 5,000 euros, destined to the creation of the INTERUNIVERSITY OPEN CHAIR FOR INNOVATION AND PARTICIPATION, whose purpose is the establishment of a space dedicated entirely to the promotion of initiatives of transparency, innovation and reindustrialization of Molina de Segura, in which both professors and university students participate, as well as professionals of the sector.
The chair may also have the funding of other entities that adhere to the agreement, and will serve as a framework for carrying out activities or promoting projects related to:
The healthy city: social determinants of health.
Intervention plans
Education, culture and sport: democratic planning and access dynamics.
Sustainable urban development: New territory culture and mobility.
Conservation of the natural environment and urban environment.
Negotiation with the local government for the expansion of participatory budgets.
Surveys to the population on their knowledge regarding municipal economic variables: sensitization and broadening of the critical citizen spirit.
Character in the public information procedures of the projects developed in the municipality.
Training: Definition of topics, contents, times, processes, areas of application, etc., in training for companies and workers based on the study of their recycling needs.
Training in business innovation processes for workers.
Conferences on innovative culture in the company.
Office of companies: How to specify the operation of the Office of Companies for the cooperation of all the components that are foreseen: systematization of processes, distribution of tasks, promotion of projects, etc.
Awards for business creation projects.
Technical and financial support for business projects.
Technical support to local companies in innovation projects in processes or products.
Citizen participation: What kind of collaboration can be had as citizen participation in all collaborative work: City Council, Businessmen, Universities, Círculo de Economía, Trade Unions, Credit institutions, Citizenship.
Financing: Study of possible European resources for industrial development, conditions, procedures, times, etc.
Direct business cooperation: Analysis of the type of companies in Molina to design collaborations for student internships, traineeships, professional immersion.
Specific training needs
Business models and labor relations: Contribute in the process of reindustrialization, the formulation and revitalization of ethical criteria for business culture and labor relations, which overcome the current precariousness of employment, among a good part of the working population, seeking the shared commitment of a harmonious and just development of the municipality.
Cooperation with the OTRIs of the UMU and UPCT to connect the demands of the research needs of the companies with the research and technological offers of the research groups of the university.
Analysis of development initiatives that have been successful in other areas.
Initiatives to increase the innovative culture in the productive fabric: circles of improvement, inclusion of innovation in the mission and objectives of the company, etc.
Calls for awards for business innovation initiatives.
The activities to be developed by the Chair will be organized by the Directorate of the same, which will be made up of two Directors, one from each University (UMU and UPCT).
The agreement will be valid from its signature until December 31, 2019. The activities object of the Chair will be carried out in the UMU's own facilities, UPCT, Molina de Segura's Town Hall, or in any other space that, from common agreement, determine both institutions.
