The City of Molina de Segura, through the Department of Sports and Health, has organized the III Municipal League Cup 2018-2019 of Molina de Segura.
The initiative was presented at a press conference on Monday, March 4, at the Molinense City Hall, by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Romero Plastics Board and sponsor of the Cup, Juan Fernando Romero Hernández, and the technician. responsible for the Municipal Leagues of the Department of Sports and Health, Maria Guardiola Villarino.
The Municipal League Cup is a tournament that is played mid-season, and this year the third edition is celebrated.
It takes place in the 4 municipal leagues that compete in the 2018/2019 season:
- III Macario Basketball Workshops Cup: the 8 best teams of the first round of the regular basketball league participate, and they compete in a single match.
The confrontations are determined by the classification of the team in the table.
They participate around 120 players.
- III Romero Plastics Cup of Futsal: all the teams of the three divisions that are in the league participate, with a total of 42 teams.
They face each other in phases: the first one faces all the teams that make up the 2nd and 3rd division;
in the next phase the qualifiers of the previous phase plus the last 10 of the 1st division;
and, in the next phase, the qualifiers of the previous phases plus the 4 best 1st division teams (round of 16).
Quarters and semifinals among the classified teams, and the clashes are always drawn.
They participate around 840 players.
- I Cup Romero de Plasticos de Fútbol 7 Amateurs: the top 8 teams of the first round of the 7-a-side football league participate. They take part in a single game and the matches are determined by the team's classification in the table.
They participate around 160 players.
- I Cup Romero de Plasticos 7 Veterans: the top 8 teams of the first round of the 7-a-side football league participate and compete in a single game.
The confrontations are determined by the classification of the team in the table.
They participate around 160 players.
All the cups play their final on Saturday, March 9, at the El Romeral Sports Center.
After the matches, the trophies will be awarded.
