Molina de Segura City Council organizes nine guided and free tourist visits from February to December 2019 (29/01/2019)

The Department of Tourism of the City of Molina de Segura, for the seventh consecutive year and in collaboration with the Institute of Tourism of the Region of Murcia and the Regional Network of Tourism Offices, participates in the program Your Free Guided Tour through the organization of 9 Guided tours and free, which will be held from February 2 to December 14, 2019.

By 2019, the following visits are planned:

February 2: Molina de Segura: Cradle of the Vegetable Preservation.

Departure at 18.00 from Plaza de España.

March 2: Urban Sculpture.

Departure at 5:00 pm from Plaza de la Molinera.

April 6: Route through the Sotos del Río Segura.

Departure at 10.00 from the Molino de Olayo.

May 5: Route from the Field to the Huerta.

Departure by bus at 10.00 am from Avenida de Madrid, next to the Town Hall.

May 18: Theatrical visit.

Departure at 11.00 from Plaza de España.

September 13: Guided Night and Musical Tour.

Departure 22.00 hours from Church of Our Lady of the Assumption.

October 5: Historical Molina.

Departure at 7:00 pm from Ermita de San Roque.

November 9: Discover Molina Playing.

Departure at 5:00 pm from the Plaza de la Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion.

December 14: Preparing Christmas.

Departure at 5:00 pm from Plaza de la Molinera

As for the proposed routes, this year four new guided tours are included: Molina de Segura: Cradle of Vegetable Preservation;

Urban Sculpture;

Route through the Sotos del Segura River and Route from the Field to the Huerta.

The Councilor for Tourism, Andrés Martínez Cervantes, said that "participation in this program, for the seventh consecutive year, is a unique opportunity to get to know our town, as people who visit us can visit our old town, enjoy natural surroundings or know the industrial past of Molina de Segura ".

Martínez also added that, "as a novelty, this program has a section on the new website of https://www.murciaturistica.es, with a visual calendar that will allow online booking in a more intuitive manner and, moreover, The reserve will be directly accessible through the information of the municipality and the events calendar, thus maximizing the possibilities for the final public to reach the information and make the reservation. "

The first visit offered this year, Molina de Segura: Cradle of Vegetable Preservation, will be held on Saturday, February 2, at 6:00 pm, leaving from the Plaza de España.

The participants will discover the transformation that Molina de Segura experienced during the twentieth century, going from being a rural society to an industrialized society, specializing in vegetable preservation.

They will visit, in the Plaza of Spain, the artistic installation Stars of the Preservation: Homage to the women of the Molina de Segura preserves;

Next, the company's Ferris Wheel will be visited.

They will continue through the Plaza de la Molinera and the Plaza del MUDEM.

The visit will end at the El Jardín Center, where you will see the Jesus Herrero scale model exhibition and Antonio Robles' photography exhibition.
