The Department of the Environment of the City of Molina de Segura presents a new program of Environmental Education activities, which will run from January to June 2019 in the High Nature Information Center of the Vicente Blanes Ecological Park and the Center of Information and Welcome of Visitors of Las Lagunas de Campotéjar-Salar Gordo.
The main objective of these activities is to promote knowledge of the values ​​of these natural areas of the municipality, while at the same time making the visiting population aware of the importance of conserving these areas and their rich biodiversity.
It is a new program aimed at all audiences, which includes guided tours, nature workshops and audiovisual talks to promote awareness and respect for the environment among citizens.
Participation in these activities is free and it is not necessary to pre-register.
The Nature Information Center Alto del Rellano-Vicente Blanes Ecological Park, opens its doors on the second and fourth Sunday of each month from 10:00 to 14:00 hours, offering visitors information about the natural and rural environment, the values environmental, scenic and cultural aspects of the Vicente Blanes Ecological Park and its surroundings, the landscape and cultural values ​​of the area, the places of geological interest, the signposted nature trails and other resources for ecotourism.
In the center you can visit the interesting exhibition La historia de Molina through the fossils.
The program for the months of January to June 2019 to be developed in this center and its surroundings includes a set of activities related to the flora and fauna of the place, the traditions of Campo de Molina, the landscape or the geological wealth of the area. .
We highlight the routes through the Sierra del Águila, the Cordel de los Valencianos or the La Poza area;
and a planting day to mark the Day of the Tree.
The opening of the Information and Welcome Center for Visitors of Las Lagunas de Campotéjar takes place on the first and third Sunday of each month, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This wetland, which enjoys different types of environmental protection at the international level (ZEPA zone and RAMSAR site), has an important natural heritage and ecological values ​​to highlight, among them the presence of protected migratory water birds, such as the white-headed duck, a bird in danger of extinction worldwide.
The proposal of activities that will be developed in the center and its surroundings responds to the need to make known the importance of the conservation of this habitat.
For this purpose, a thematic guided tour through the lagoons is offered every Sunday, followed by a workshop on nature around the birdlife, the mammals that inhabit the lagoons, the dragonflies and also the flora of the salt marsh, the importance of the wetlands, the purification of the waters or the protected natural spaces.
In some of the activities birds will be released from the Wildlife Recovery Center El Valle, of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
The Department of the Environment offers the possibility of requesting guided tours through Las Lagunas de Campotéjar and the Vicente Blanes Ecological Park for groups of 10 or more people.
To make these visits it is necessary to request them previously.
