The burial works of the existing medium voltage overhead line in the La Brancha neighborhood of Molin, which passed over the houses and that practically affected all residents of this neighborhood in Molin, began on Friday, January 18 and is planned that the works, which are carried out through a collaboration agreement between the City of Molina de Segura and Iberdrola, can be completed in three months.
The Mayor, Esther Clavero Mira, along with the Councilor of Public Road, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, and municipal technicians, have visited the site of the work and have explained to neighbors how the work will be carried out.
Clavero has reported that this action responds to a historical demand of people living in this area of ​​Molina de Segura and that has finally been possible, after long negotiations with Iberdrola, thanks to a collaboration agreement signed by the municipality of Molinense and the electric company.
The cost of the works is 55,731.85 euros and the agreement establishes that the City takes charge of civil works to enable the undergrounding of the line and Iberdrola is responsible for the wiring and all the technical part referred to the electricity supply service.
The works consist of the undergrounding of 140 linear meters of network and the withdrawal of several electrical towers.
This action also contemplates the best of the existing sidewalk, taking advantage of the need to demolish it for the installation of the buried network.
The neighborhood collaboration for the realization of this project has been key, especially recognizing the contribution of the neighbor, Justo Asís, who has authorized the placement of towers on his property.
The works are being undertaken by the company Construcciones Y Excavaciones Sánchez López SL
The Mayor explained that from the City of Molina de Segura is working to design a general plan for the burial of all medium-voltage airlines that fly over inhabited areas of the municipality with the aim of making the city more friendly.
