The objective of this contest, endowed with a first prize of 3,000 euros, is to encourage and support innovation and boost entrepreneurial talent.
The Molina de Segura City Council, through its Business Office, has convened the I Startup Molina Competition for entrepreneurial initiatives in the Region of Murcia and / or Molina de Segura, with the aim of promoting and supporting innovation and boost talent entrepreneur.
This contest, which has the collaboration of the Association of Entrepreneurs and Merchants of Segura (ASECOM) and the European Center for Business and Innovation of Murcia (CEEIM), also seeks to reward the best entrepreneurial initiatives in the initial phase and thus contribute to to the generation of employment, thus reinforcing the local economy
The bases of the contest have been presented at a press conference on Monday, January 21, by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Economy and Finance, Urbanism and Economic Development, José de Haro González, and the Secretary of ASECOM, Miguel Ángel Delgado Gallego.
Clavero has ensured that this call will be a success, and added that "the goal is for the initiative to become a meeting point, a reference to boost entrepreneurial talent and also a true agitator of new ideas that make us progress as a society. "
The competition, which has as a backbone the technological nature in relation to ICT, is endowed with a first prize of 3,000 euros, at the regional level, a second prize of 2,000 euros, also at the regional level, and a local prize of 1,000 euros for projects submitted by individuals or legal entities registered in Molina de Segura.
The selection of projects will be made taking into account the following categories:
Technology and innovation in logistics processes.
This category includes everything related to geolocation, processes that speed up transport, traceability of goods, stock control mechanisms, etc.
General sale and online sale: This category includes new sales models with recycling of materials and their dissemination in social networks, applications of ICT to trade / business, marketing, etc.
Products and services related to nutrition and health.
This includes projects on nutrition, health, healthy lifestyle habits, sports and exercise applied to citizenship, etc.
Environmental impact.
This last category is reserved for projects that advocate measures to reduce environmental impact, circular economy, new environmental processes applied to industry and trade, water use, recycling, new materials, sustainable mobility and energy efficiency processes.
The jury of the contest, which will be designated by the City of Molina de Segura among people of proven experience in the field, must choose a maximum of 5 finalists from among all projects submitted, following criteria based on innovative aspects, the relevance in the markets, the potential for internationalization, the technical feasibility and the interest that they may arouse in potential investors.
The Mayor, commented during the press conference presentation of the rules of the contest, that "the newly created Business Office of Molina de Segura is strengthening and consolidating its work and the objectives for which it was launched: revitalize the economy of our municipality through very diverse channels ".
Clavero said that the City Council is doing an exhaustive analysis of the business situation, "contacting the companies in Molinense, meeting the needs of the industrial estates and generating innovative projects, such as this contest that awards the best entrepreneurial initiatives in the initial phase. the Region and our municipality. "
To participate in the I Startup Molina Contest, projects must be submitted before February 6 to the Business Office of the Molina de Segura Town Hall (Plaza de España, s / n 30500-Molina de Segura-Murcia), specifying in the envelope " Startup contest ".
Two copies of each project and a photocopy of the DNI must be attached
