The Hospital de Molina expands its facilities and healthcare services with the start-up of the Endovascular Therapeutic Unit and Minimally Invasive Surgery, inaugurated this morning by the Regional Minister of Health of the Region of Murcia, Manuel Villegas García, and the Managing Director of the Hospital de Molina, Pedro Hernández Jiménez.
This unit has the best technology integrated in a Hybrid Operating Theater of last generation, with all kinds of connections and vital supports for the patient, where any Endovascular or Surgical Treatment can be performed in the same room.
The Endovascular Technique consists of carrying out vascular procedures with minimally invasive techniques (2-mm incision in the groin) that do not require general anesthesia in many cases and that allow minimal or ambulatory hospitalization and, therefore, a faster recovery. by means of which it is possible to perform dilation of stenosis (angioplasty), dissolve thrombi (thrombolytic), introduce prosthesis (endoprosthesis, stents), treat tumors, etc.
"Being able to visualize the arteries or veins, as well as the organs in real time and perform 3D sequences and images or a CT scan in situ, improve the precision and safety of surgery by reducing intervention times", explains the Director-Manager of the Hospital de Molina, Pedro Hernández Jiménez.
With this new Endovascular Therapeutic Unit, the Molina Hospital becomes the first Healthcare Hospital, both public and private, in the Region of Murcia with an Advanced Hybrid Operating Room and one of the few in Spain.
