The Mayor of Molina de Segura and president of the company stressed that SERCOMOSA, which has also approved next year's budgets, "has returned to the path of benefits after the bankruptcy situation in which it was two years ago"
The Board of Directors of the municipal services company SERCOMOSA, meeting yesterday, Thursday, December 20, and chaired by the Mayor of Molina de Segura and President of the mixed capital company, Esther Clavero Mira, has unanimously approved several agreements, They include a reduction in the rate of garbage as well as an increase in the frequency of collection in the urbanizations to match the cost-service with the rest of the municipality, the reduction of the water rate and the new budgets for the 2019 fiscal year.
The three approved agreements are the following:
Rebate of the garbage rate.
The waste management company of the Ulea plant approved in its last Governing Board the reduction of its fees which, for Molina de Segura, represents an annual saving of 230,000 euros.
In application of the Municipal Ordinance that regulates the rate of garbage, that saving is transferred to the service and the price applied.
Specifically, and in response to the demands and requests of the residents, transferred by the municipal government team to SERCOMOSA, the following agreements are approved:
Lower the rate of garbage to urbanizations by 7.60%.
The aim is to continue with the elimination of the tariff discrimination of the urbanizations with respect to the urban area of ​​Molina de Segura.
Last year the rate was reduced by 3.5%, and the commitment is to equal the rates of all the residents of the municipality.
Increase in the frequency of garbage collection in urbanizations.
Currently in the urbanizations service is provided 5 days a week, except Wednesdays and Sundays.
Now the service will be increased 1 more day a week, on Sundays, in urbanizations.
Investments.
SERCOMOSA will undertake a major renovation of machinery and transport elements to improve service and reduce maintenance costs: implementation of a bilateral collection system with 2 new trucks;
geolocation system;
and other vehicles.
Other services: reinforcement of the collection of light packaging in the municipality, increasing by one more night shift (on Mondays);
reinforcement of the collection of waste in industrial estates in a daytime overflow (Wednesday);
and reinforcement of the collection of household items.
Review of the water rate.
A reduction of 1% of the average rate is approved.
This translates into a drop in the first tariff section (up to 7m3) of 4.70%, which will affect all the residents of the municipality.
The decrease in income will be compensated with the works fee.
The Mayor stressed that "the drop in the water rate will reach all Molinense citizens, with special incidence in the first section, which is what affects those who have more needs".
Budgets SERCOMOSA.
The budgets of the SERCOMOSA company are unanimously approved for the year 2019. "The budgets of 2019 certify the normalization of the municipal services company, which returns to the path of benefits after the bankruptcy situation in which it was found. 2 years, a situation that was solved achieving a reduction of the 5.5 million debt that remained with the partner, therefore, in just two and a half years in the presidency of SERCOMOSA, we have managed to get the company out of the difficult situation in which the Popular Party left it and, with an effective management, to approve a saving in the water tariff to place it as the second cheapest in the Region ", explains Esther Clavero.
