The 2nd Social and Solidarity Economy Fair of Molina de Segura is celebrated on November 23 and 24 (19/11/2018)

The 2nd Social and Solidarity Economy Fair of Molina de Segura 2018, Entrepreneurship for Social and Environmental Sustainability, promoted by the Molinense City Council and organized by the Alternative and Solidarity Economy Network (REAS Murcia), will take place on the 23rd and 24th of November, in the Plaza de España.

The initiative was presented at a press conference on Monday, November 19, by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Citizen Participation and Development Cooperation and Solidarity, Pedro Jesús Martínez Baños, the Councilor for Commerce, Concepción Orenes Hernández, and the member of REAS Murcia, Luigi Carinci.

The fair is part of the II Conference on Social and Solidarity Economy, designed to offer neighborhood associations, social organizations, administrations, companies, entrepreneurs, technicians / as, consumers and students experiences around the Social and Solidarity Economy and discuss their future possibilities.

The sessions have been structured in three blocks: first, where the cycle of 6 meetings with neighborhood associations has been framed, under the title Initiatives of economy and participation in urban development, and 22 talks in institutes and training centers during the month of November, in which fair trade, ethical finance, renewable energies and environmental sustainability have been discussed.

The second block will take place on Friday 23, with a working session on responsible public procurement, with technical representatives of the public administration, unions, social economy companies, councils of different municipalities of the Region and the public University , as well as a program of conferences in the Plenary Hall of the City Council.

To this is added the third block, the Fair of Entities of the Social and Solidarity Economy, which will be held on the afternoon of Friday 23 and all Saturday 24 in the Plaza de España.

The objectives of these conferences are to make visible the economic activity with social and solidarity character, to strengthen collaborative networks of entities related to the State Social Market, to serve as a model to other institutions or town halls, to bring to the citizens the options of change to a responsible and sustainable consumption , and support youth and entities in social entrepreneurship.

The program of conferences will be carried out around the themes: innovation, fourth sector and integral sustainability.

The opening presentation (Friday 23, at 6:00 pm) will be presented by the Councilor for Citizen Participation and Development Cooperation and Solidarity, Pedro Jesús Martínez, and will be presented by Garbiñe Henry, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Deusto , which will illustrate the audience about the theoretical framework of innovation.

In particular, it will be shown how social innovation can be the engine of the transformation of the socioeconomic fabric, highlighting the role that the fourth sector can play in social entrepreneurship.

Then, at 7:00 pm, it will be discussed at a round table on integral development and sustainability, where different innovative experiences in the field of housing cooperatives, ethical insurance, the social entrepreneurship fund and social insertion companies will give to know their good practices and how to implement these new proposals for the solidarity economy.

Within the collaborative program of the fairgrounds, where more than 30 entities will publicize their services and sell their products to the public, musical performances are noteworthy.

On Friday 23, at 20.30, will act the students of the Big Band Groove In along with the singer Katja Knaus, concert promoted by the Department of Citizen Participation.

In the same line, on Saturday, at 12.30, there will be a family concert of the Bum Band Plash, in which their training will make a didactic concert touring the styles of jazz, soul, funk for the enjoyment of children and adults.

This concert is promoted by the Department of Public Health, which has joined this second edition of the Fair to make it more transversal, enriching and attractive.
