The Molina de Segura Library Network celebrates Universal Children's Day on Tuesday, November 20 with storytellers, workshops and decoration in blue (19/11/2018)

The Molina de Segura Library Network celebrates Universal Children's Day on Tuesday, November 20, with storytelling activities, workshops and decoration in blue.

The origin of this celebration goes back to the First World War, where the inhabitants of all the cities, and especially the children, suffered the terrible ravages of that war.

At the end, it began to become aware of the special protection for children.

It was elected on November 20, because it was the day that the Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Child was adopted in 1959 and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989.

The aim of this day is to draw attention to the situation of the most disadvantaged children, to make known the rights of children and to make everyone aware of the importance of working day by day for their well-being and development.

All children have the right to health, education and protection.

Following the suggestion of UNICEF for this year 2018 to paint or wear something blue, the Molina de Segura Library Network will decorate its facilities with blue details for that day and invite everyone to wear blue for the programmed activities:

Salvador García Aguilar Library (at Avenida del Chorrico, n ° 44), at 11.30 am, storytellers by the Turulí Turulé Cultural Association, dedicated to the winner of the My Library and Me drawing contest, whose prize consisted of some entries ceded by the Villa de Molina Theater and a storyteller that will be held in the library with all their classmates of CEIP Tierno Galván.

Mercedes Mendoza Library (at Calle Cervantes, n ° 5), at 6:00 p.m., storytelling and children's workshops, by Miriam Oller.

Paco El Niño Panoramic Reading Center (in the hamlet of El Llano de Molina), at 5.30 pm, storytelling and fun workshops, by the Cultural Association Turulí Turulé.
