The 2nd Tradition Fair of Molina de Segura, dedicated to the paprika and spice trade, and organized by the Department of Handicrafts of the Molinense City Council, is celebrated on Friday 2 (from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm), Saturday 3 (from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm hours) and Sunday, November 4 (from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), in the Plaza de España.

With the Fair of Traditions, the Molina de Segura City Council intends to pay homage to the customs of this town, in a second edition dedicated to the guild of spice and paprika, traditional trades precursors of vegetable preservation, which was so important in the municipality , constituting itself in the main base on which the municipality was growing and becoming the city that it is at the moment.

They were pioneers almost artisans turned into professionals who have managed to evolve and position themselves in the 21st century hand in hand with modern companies that have a presence in the five continents.

The paprika makers and spice-makers are, therefore, the protagonists of a party that was born with the aim of making known to the locals and strangers the typical customs of the municipality, forgotten trades and traditions, in an environment, the street, which both enjoy the Molinenses , always open to the visitor, in order to become a new tourist attraction of the town.

The fair will show live the work of practically extinct trades, such as the esparto, the butcher, dairy and traditional bakery, carpentry, embroidery and bolillo, the mill, etc., and, of course, the paprika and spices.

The program planned for the whole weekend includes performances of music and dance of local folklore, a sample huertana, and the Craft Market Souk of the Guadalabiad, which, as usual every month, arrives with more than 20 stalls with craft products arrived throughout the Region of Murcia, such as sausages and cheeses, honey, jewelery, ceramics, brooches, felt and leather articles, paint, wood, mirrors, soaps, natural cosmetics, minerals, etc.

In addition, you can learn the process of making paprika from its cultivation in the garden until its packaging, or the preparation of sausages, contemplate exhibitions of painting, photography and miniatures or the exhibitions of the work of esparto and bobbin, or participate in different workshops designed for the whole family, natural soaps, ceramics, sweets, etc.
