The act of signing an agreement between the Molina de Segura City Council and the Immigration Platform of Molina de Segura for the Immigrant Care and Information Office took place today, Tuesday, October 30, in the municipality of Molinense.
The Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Coordinator of Activities of the Immigration Platform of Molina de Segura, Belén García Rodríguez, and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, attended.
The agreement includes a municipal subsidy for a total amount of 30,000 euros for this year 2018, which represents an increase of 5,000 euros over last year.
It has among its objectives:
Offer a support service for the social integration of the immigrant collective resident in the municipality through the Immigrant Assistance Office and a Mediator-Translator Service.
Support the Municipal Social Services Center in the services and activities of the different programs, with special attention to language differences.
Address and reduce possible intercultural conflicts in the municipality.
To favor a good coexistence between the different members of the educational community through the figure of an intercultural mediator.
The Immigration Platform of Molina de Segura is committed to carry out the following actions:
Service of an interpreter-translator with training in family, school and neighborhood mediation.
Attention and support to immigrants in administrative processes or procedures.
Interpretation of documents for those immigrants, with special attention to the Arab population, with no or low level of Spanish.
Translation of printed matter, brochures and any information or dissemination document with special interest for the foreign community (Arabic, French and another African language).
Literacy Workshop for Immigrants.
Spanish and nationality classes (CCSE and DELE).
Celebration of holidays, Day of the Immigrant, campaigns of awareness and prevention, etc.
The Office of Attention and Information to the Immigrant is located in Avenida de Madrid, n ° 68 of Molina de Segura, next to the Integral Center La Cerámica.
For the development of its activities, it has a translator / interpreter, with knowledge of French, Arabic and other African languages ​​and training in intercultural mediation, as well as volunteers from the entity.
The Molina de Segura Immigration Platform has been collaborating through successive agreements with the Molinense City Council, within this project aimed at the immigrant community to promote social integration in the municipality.
The agreement includes the commitment of the entity to take into account the Social and Labor Insertion Exchange of the Molina de Segura City Council, aimed at favoring the integration in the labor market of people in situation of unemployment in the municipality.
With the increase in funding, the entity conducts workshops and activities to reinforce competencies towards women and their empowerment.
At the same time, the translator / interpreter service that the entity offers to different institutions is maintained, collaborating and mediating in the resolution of cultural, educational conflicts, etc.
