The presentation ceremony of the showcase dedicated to the Setenil Prize, made by the Department of Culture, in collaboration with the Association of Merchants and Professionals of Molina de Segura (COM-PRO), took place today, Wednesday, October 24, in the Passage Doyca of Molina de Segura.
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Jesús Martínez Baños, the Councilor for Commerce, Concepción Orenes Hernández, and the President of COM-PRO, Francisco Saura Velasco, attended.
It is a joint action between the Department of Culture and COM-PRO which aims to reaffirm the image of Molina de Segura as a literary and cultural city.
In this case, helping to disseminate the Setenil Prize to the Best Storybook published in Spain, which annually calls the Department of Culture and is considered the Oscar of the story in our country.
An empty shop window on Calle Mayor, at the corner of Pasaje Doyca, has been reused to expose the ten finalists of this XV edition, of which the winner has not yet been proclaimed, thus bringing this activity closer to the citizens.
The merchants are again involved in the cultural life of the city, as has already been done by supporting the 49th International Theater Festival, from the banners of the Molina de Segura shops.
The objective is to improve the image of the city, giving use to the low and empty shop windows, creating new communicative and exhibition spaces.
It is planned to continue using these spaces for exhibitions of painting, sculpture and photography.
"In short, it's about continuing to bet on Molina de Segura as a thriving city, full of life and activity in its streets," says the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero.
