The Environmental Volunteering Program Volunteers Naturally !, promoted by the Department of the Environment of the City of Molina de Segura, proposes an activity in which volunteers will collaborate in the control and elimination of invasive and exotic species in the Segura River .

This activity will take place on Saturday, October 27, at 09:30 hours, in El Soto de la Hijuela, next to the Segura River.

Volunteers who participate in this activity will have the opportunity to collaborate in the environmental conditioning activities that are being carried out in El Soto de la Hijuela and that are part of the Program for the Conservation and Improvement of Natural Ecosystems of the Segura River, which The Town Council of Molina de Segura has been developing since 2000. There will be a brief training in relation to the importance of the conservation of riverbank vegetation and cleaning and elimination of invasive and exotic species will be carried out in this area.

According to the Councilor for the Environment, Juan Alcaide Quirós, "with this activity of the Environmental Volunteering Program, the citizens of Molina de Segura are expected to take part in the improvement actions in the Segura River, so that they know the importance of the conservation of the ribera ecosystem and of the autochthonous vegetal species, contributing for it in the elimination of invasive and exotic species in the section of El Soto de la Hijuela, which will contribute to the conservation of the biodiversity and fluvial ecosystems. to the entire population to participate in the knowledge, value and conservation of our natural environment around the Segura River, collaborating every month in the activities of the Environmental Volunteering Program of Molina de Segura, and especially, I want to show my gratitude to all volunteers for their involvement and contribution to the dissemination of the environmental values ​​of

our municipality. "

The activities of this program take place on the last Saturday of each month and are aimed at all those over 14 years old interested in the conservation of natural areas and the improvement of the municipality.
