The Presentation of the Moors and Christians Festivities of Molina de Segura is celebrated on October 5, 6 and 7 (29/09/2018)

The Presentation of the Moors and Christians Festival Molina de Segura 2018, promoted by the Local Festivities Council and the Moors and Christians Federation of Molina de Segura, is celebrated on Friday 5, Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 October.

The initiative was presented at a press conference on Friday, September 28, at the Museum of the Enclave of the Wall (MUDEM), by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilman of Local Festivities, Andrés Martínez Cervantes, and the President of the Federation of Moors and Christians of Molina de Segura, Alonso Guzmán Hernández.

The proposal to organize in the municipality these Moors and Christians Festivities was born from the initiative of a group of Molinians, who contacted Salvador Yepes and David Carmona, from the Kábila Hosts Fernando III of the Moors and Christians Festival of Murcia, and the idea was to start this year 2018 with a presentation of the Fiestas to, in 2019, organize a first celebration of Moors and Christians in Molina de Segura.

The idea was very well received and up to now a total of 250 people have been involved in these celebrations, grouped in two kábilas moras (Kábila Mulina As Sikka and Kábila Rey Moro) and two Christian mesnadas (Mesnada Infante Juan Manuel and Mesnada Huestes de Fernando III).

The idea of â€‹â€‹the organizers, gathered around the Federation, is that this year the program of activities awakens the interest of the population in general;

hence the open nature of the programmed activities, so that it has an effect called among the citizens.

As they point out, these celebrations are based on historical events, it is a remembrance of the history of Molinense, a way of making known and celebrating their past.

According to the Councilman of Local Holidays, Andrés Martínez, "these parties are born from the popular initiative, and have managed in a very short time to organize, create proposals and carry them out." From the Department we support this initiative because we believe that the contribution is very important cultural, historical and tourist that can provide the municipality ".

The Mayor, Esther Clavero, points out that "these celebrations, which are born of the popular initiative and are having a very good catching, should be consolidated in the future, so that the celebrations endure over time and have not only a gap in the celebrations of Moors and Christians of the Region of Murcia, but they get to be a reference, I hope so for the repercussion and enthusiasm that their organizers are putting. "

The program of the Presentation of Moros y Cristianos Molina de Segura 2018 is as follows:

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5

8.30 pm: Presentation of Fiestas at the MUDEM.

9.30 pm: travel to the charanga camp and inauguration of the Medieval Market, located in Campamento de Moros y Cristianos.

10:00 pm: welcome to the party by the City of Molina de Segura.

22.15 hours: crumbs in the camp for festive and public.

23.30 to 02.00 hours: music dj.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6

09.00 to 11.00: chocolate in medieval camp.

10.30 am: concentration of the festive groups in medieval camp.

11.00 am: opening of the Medieval Market
