The Environmental Volunteering Program Volunteers Naturally !, promoted by the Department of the Environment of the Molina de Segura Town Council, resumes its activity after the summer, with a plantation of native forest species in the botanical corner of the Parque de la Compañía.
Also during this day will be enabled an information point in the Weekly Market to publicize this program and encourage the residents of Molina de Segura to participate in their actions.
This activity will take place on Saturday, September 28, at 09:30 hours, in the Parque de la Compañía.
Volunteers who participate in this activity will have the opportunity to collaborate in the rehabilitation of the botanical garden located in the Parque de la Compañía with the planting of native forest species, which will serve as a new resource for environmental awareness and education, and also as an example of the use of autochthonous plants of our Region to populate parks and gardens, plants adapted to this climatology with scarce availability of water.
On the other hand, the installation of the information point on the environmental volunteer program will serve to encourage participation by the volunteers themselves, who will announce the program of activities and the way to participate in them.
The information stand will be located next to the Vega Plaza Shopping Center.
According to the Councilor for the Environment, Juan Alcaide Quirós, "with this activity of the Environmental Volunteering Program, the citizens of Molina de Segura are expected to take part in actions to improve the urban environment, so that they know the importance of the introduction of autochthonous vegetation in green areas, its environmental benefits within cities and its contribution to the enrichment of biodiversity, I encourage all the population to participate in the knowledge, value and conservation of our natural and urban environment, collaborating every month in the activities of the Environmental Volunteering Program of Molina de Segura, and especially, I want to thank all the volunteers for their involvement and contribution to the dissemination of the environmental values ​​of our municipality. "
The activities of this program take place on the last Saturday of each month and are aimed at all those over 14 years old interested in the conservation of natural areas and the improvement of the municipality.
